Re: What's Happened to this Place?
I believe the slick60’s ship has sailed, and from the view from here - won’t be returning to port.
Wish I was wrong, but don’t believe so. Just a hand-full of old-timers having a closed conversation . . . It is what it is.

Re: What's Happened to this Place?
Guess that warrants a reply! Without being excessively negative ( for a change); I wouldn't trust ANYTHING found on the current FTE! Blanket statements - like the above - are usually foolish. There is tons of collective wisdom on FTE, across all the Forums I’ve been associated with. But wisdom mean...

Re: What's Happened to this Place?
I have to say that for a ton of exposure and quick responses, FTE is the place to go. Over the years, I did hear a small steady number of mentions about this site, but when I finally got around to checking it out, it has been , to put it (almost) politely - underwhelming. More like a few old buddies...

65/66 Grill Guard Support Arm Surround Rings/Rubber Pieces
Specific to the listed year, these attach via 3 screws to the radiator core support and surround the holes punched through the support that allow the grill guard arms to pass through the radiator core support to attach to the frame. Also, would appreciate any measurements/photos of these parts, so I...

Re: Grill Gard For 1966 - Ford, Not Aftermarket
Thanks to Blackwater Forge for this tip. However, long story(kind of) short: I am still looking. Seller started, then stopped the process. Thought I was going to buy it and get it shipped out to L.A., where I would drive the six hours to retrieve it, but he could not get his daughter to pull it from...

Re: Upper Door Trim Panels From SMS?
I bought the red vinyl embossing and seat material from them years ago. I never installed it. The embossing section was the top 10" inches and the rest of the material is separate. I would have to have an upholster assemble it. For anyone interested, I was on the phone with SMS recently and th...

Re: 1966 Battery Tray
Thanks to Tom, I have a very nice replacement battery tray sitting on my spares shelf. When my grandson gets this truck in about 15 years, he will also be getting all the rare and not-reproduced parts, mostly NOS, to keep it going for many years, after I am gone.

I put a Briggs & Stratton 3.5 h.p. in mine. It will pull a house down the road in that granny gear . . .

Re: Turlock Ca. Swap Meet
I was not able to make it after-all. It was a tough decision, having not attended in so long, and living so close now. I have so much outdoor stuff to get done now that the weather has cooled, and before winter rains set in. But there’s always next year . . . They are reported to usually have 15-20 ...

Re: Upper Door Trim Panels From SMS?
So, I just spoke with Lesli at SMS Auto Fabrics in Oregon: https://smsautofabrics.com/ They are sending to me a sample of the original type vinyl for approval. Yes, they can duplicate them exactly, including embossing the lines and detents. This is great news for Slick owners wanting an alternative ...

Re: Upper Door Trim Panels From SMS?
Yes sir, that is what I mean. I am in email correspondence with one of their salespersons, since I am thinking about getting a pair, but I’d like to get a sample of the materials first. Even having an alternative at all to the ABS ones would be good news. I will call her today to request samples and...

Upper Door Trim Panels From SMS?
I’m not at all satisfied with the ABS reproductions I bought. I found out that SMS Auto Fabrics in Oregon, who provided me with the correct seat cover for my 66 Custom Cab, can also do the correct soft vinyl door trim panels. I always seem to be behind the curve on such things, but has anyone bought...
