Buddy that builds a lot of hot rods uses the Ford truck engine stands and mounts in whatever he is building. Mounts to engine and then keeps cutting excess off the stands until engine is where he wants it.

I always drill a 1/2" hole at the bottom of the that brace. My truck came from New Mexico and when I drilled it, I was reward with a large pile of dark brown sand

The Jag is the easiest clip I have ever done. 65 Styleside said it all pretty good.

The nice thing about adding spacers instead of cutting the rod is if something fails in the middle of nowhere, you can simply replace it with no modifications.
