Re: Paint over Powdercoat?
IMO properly applied powder coat is a great base to apply paint over. I scuff, shoot epoxy over and work from there. The epoxy is not necessary just my preference.

Re: Shaved drip rails?
Here is a couple of pics. Shaved and welded in rod to get a profile around door. Not difficult but a lot of welding and time consuming. You must take your time and not overheat an area or you will have to deal with warping. Also in the pic is Kevin tilt hood kit that is well worth the money. http://...

Re: '61 Uni restoration
That is the torque box mount and you can get rid of it and replace it with a rear cab mount. The rear cab support already has provisions for the mount. Use the gas tank mounting holes and the problem is solved. In the pic the box tubing is part of the frame work that was built to install a wood bed ...

Re: Rods 63 UNI long bed ProStreet
Very good job on the glass install. It took me 15 hours on the mod. It truly is a PITA but worth it. I was not very pleased with the quality of the window fuzzies in the kit and was planning to call Carpenter and see if I could get some custom ones from them. Great progress on the truck.

Re: Rods 63 UNI long bed ProStreet
Looking very good. I like the hood scope. What are you planning for the vent cable holes in the dash? IMO - ditch the drip rails to match the rest of the reworked lines on the truck.

Re: Slowly Getting There
Below are a few pictures that may help. The IFS is very adjustable and you can use coilovers or bags. It has an adjustment point and I could lower the ride height about 3/4" more by moving the coilover mount point on the lower control arm. I do not see any reason why you could not notch the fra...

Re: Slowly Getting There
Thought Id share a little more progress. Im waiting for the weather to warm up so I can spray some epoxy and slick sand. I did not like the way the tailgate lined up and I have never liked the hinge bump outs so now they are gone. May not fit everyones taste but I like the look. I will have to get s...

Re: Slowly Getting There
Well as the threads title says "Slowly getting there I have not worked on the truck in about 5 months. Spent the summer busy with the kids, painted the exterior of my house (dont recommend that to others), built a deck/pergola and so on. I have a few metal work items to complete before paint. I...

Very well done on the engine install. It fits very nice between the inner fender wells. Any issues with computer throwing codes?

Try those autocross moves with the above mentioned set ups. All have there place but if you want the best deal for your money Jim Meyer or No Limit are the best way to go hands down.
