Re: Pertronix Install Problems
Turns out it was a combination of problems. 1. The set up sent in the 1261 box was a 1263. Pertronix says it should still work but did not mount correctly. I drilled a new hole in the plate and moved it over to where the points used to sit. 2. By the time I got this far and had it figured out, the p...

Re: Pertronix Install Problems
I appreciate the help! It's got new plugs (not in but probably 50-75 miles before I pulled the points). It's been gapped. I'm starting to think timing is out. I've read some other threads where a guy had put it on the 170 in his Ranchero and he had to modify the mount of the Pertronix because it wou...

Re: Pertronix Install Problems
Definitely getting spark. I'm close to giving up on it and going back to the points. I've tried contacting Pertronix with no luck for a response.

Re: Pertronix Install Problems
I put on the Flamethrower coil that Pertronix suggests. It's straight 12v to it, I even jumped a line direct to the battery to check it and see if that helped. No luck. I've been very cautious as I've read you can't leave it powered on too long without running or it will burn up the ignitor unit its...

Pertronix Install Problems
I finally got around to installing the Pertronix Ignitor II in my 62 with a 223 today. Problem is, it won't fire. It will crank just fine and about every 10 seconds give a real rough stumble and back to cranking. Installed it per for instructions and I have no idea... Could the timing be off somehow...

Split Unibody on 4x4 frame
The owner isn't sure of it's beginnings...but to my knowledge...no 4x4 uni's and no split uni's in the United States...right?

Re: Getting 62 F-100 Back on the Road
Backroads/2-lane would add 30-40 miles so not too bad.

Getting 62 F-100 Back on the Road
About 11 year ago I made my 62 F-100 unibody look decent...but it was still mechanically original. Functional, but not fresh by any means. I am getting ready to get the truck back out and it has about a 200 mile trip to make from where it's currently at to where I live. I am considering trailering i...

Re: Repop Complete Floorpans for early slicks
I guess I must have had rare experiences with LMC compared to everyone else. I've always had decent service and decent quality. I've bought tons of 67-72 chevy parts and several parts for my uni from them. While yes, sometimes it would be typical parts counter guy attitude from the employees, I stil...

61-64 Sill Plates
It's probably been asked before, but I have been looking for someone who sells sill plates for 61-64 trucks. I've got a '62 Unibody. I've been looking at LMC and the rest of the bigger catalogs and haven't found any for slicks other than 65 and 66.
Any help?

Nice looking truck. How much did you lower it and what are you wheel and tire specs? Backspacing, etc?

Re: Mono-Leafs & Drop Axles - Any experience?
For anyone interested, in my research on this I have found that Sacramento Vintage Ford also carriers some mono leafs in a 4/5 drop. A little better priced than POL.

Re: Has anyone seen this truck around?
I wouldn't mind trying to get it back someday. I've dreamed of putting it on 16x8 steelies maybe with factory style hubcaps and painting back to the factory blue/white two tone. Doubtful the current owner is on here but if so, I would like to see what it looks like today!

Has anyone seen this truck around?
Looking for the 64 1/2 ton 4x4 short bed my dad (Smokinhart) and I built when I was in high school. It was on a shortened frame, painted a early 90's Lexus Dark Blue, had a 289 and a 4 spd in it. Sold it around 5 years ago to a soldier at Fort Riley, KS. I know he was going to make some changes but ...

Unibody Width Measurement
Odd question for the unibody guys. My truck is in Kansas and I haven't moved it to Illinois after being here a year. Since I won't get to visit the truck again until Thanksgiving, curious if someone could get me a width at the widest point of the truck (excluding mirrors)? Trying to do some garage o...
