Re: My 66 F-100 Shortbed resto. Taking a while.

Truck looks great. It looks very similar to how mine used to before I took it apart....12 years ago. I'm gathering parts right now to start building it again.

On a side note, are you stationed at Eglin or Hurlburt Field? I'm over at Barksdale, been in for 18 this coming August.

Long time, no hear.....

So, I just logged back in to the forum. The last time I visited was Aug 7, 2010. WTF? I've clearly been away far too long. I remember the yahoo days and the transitions since. Glad to see it's still around and many of the names of people I recognize too. Finally getting back on to my '66. I had a da...

Is there a better way to post the picture directly to the post?

My new super slick

I haven't gone to get it yet, but I will soon. From best I can tell it's a '68 F800. It still uses the pre'-64 style cab but with a huge pop top. Does anyone have any resources for decoding the VIN on this one? I'm going to build it with a dumping flatbed so that I can put it to work for me. I found...

Why is there a reason to fear EFI? Just because it's not a dinosaur carb? To each their own, but I can tune an EFI better than a carb. I'm also only 31 and don't have much experience with carbs. My '66 is getting a late model 4.6L from a crown vic. It's already installed and runs, just have to finis...

Slick models

Are there any toy models out there of the slicks? I'd really like to find a plastic model. I wish Hotwheels would make one. They make plenty of odd rides, why not ours?

My first '66 was bought new by my grandfather and passed down. It was the bengal tan color and the rearview mirror was the same color. My current truck was originally white, and it too has the tan rearview mirror.

It's been channeled down on a '97 Crown Vic frame and running gear. It's not finished by any means. I haven't installed the bags yet, but I'll be swapping them for the Vic's springs. I'll see how it looks, but I may just build a new fame. Hope to be working on it in the next couple of months.

Long time, no hear?

Howdy y'all. it's been a long time since I've been on here. How's everything going? I'm hoping to get back on my '66 after a 6 year hiatus. Sure, I've done a little here and there. It all started in July of 2003 when I started to do an engine swap in my daily driver '66. Noticed that the front suspe...

Long time no hear, engine color

Well, I'm back after a long hiatus. Only the oldtimers might know me, like uncle skip and kid. I finally got a call to do a restoration on a '66 F100. This is a ground up resto, back to original. It's a long bed camper special custom cab. Turquoise and white. Since restos aren't normally my thing, I...
