Thanks for the compliments. The tires are Coker radials. I'm not sure what size they are as I've had them over a year now. When I get home this evening I'll check and post the sizes for you.

Glass is in!!!!!!!! Putting the windshield in with the chrome trim was a chore. Took 3 of us to get in.

Drove it to the gas station and filled it up last night. Looks like I need to to make up some errands to run this weekend. 8)

Thanks for the compliments!!! It's funny how projects take on a life of their own. I really just wanted a beater that was kind of cool looking. Never had any intentions of painting it. The more I drove it the more I really started to like it.

Can't wait to hit the road in it again.

My '65 is almost finished

What started out as a pretty rough truck is starting to look kind of cool. I found this truck on Ebay last year. It's a '65 F-100 on a '73 Torino chassis with a decent running 351C in it. The price was right and the thing had some potential so I bought it. Here's how it arrived at the house: http://...

I had to use a few small cut off wheels and ground the head off from inside the cab to get them off my parts truck. Just have to be careful not to grind the body.

Picked up some 65-66 frame pads this morning and now have the new core support in the truck. Worked out perfect and what difference compared to what was in there.

Thanks,
Curtis

Core Support Question

To put a 64 core support in a 65 truck which frame pads do you use? 61-64's or 65-66's?

Thanks,
Curtis

It's all Torino suspension. I like the coils as well and the thing rides nice. It has the Torino steering column also. I'll get some pics of that beauty and post them. There will be a nice aftermarket column in it before spring with a stock truck wheel. The truck has potential and I got it cheaper t...

Update on my Torino framed 65 shorty

Well, some more progress has been made so I thought I would post this thread. I've almost got the bed floor and wheel wells finished. The bed now only needs the center section fabbed up and it will be ready to media blast. My chinese break wants no part of a 48" piece of 18 gauge. So this weeke...

DO NOT - DO NOT - DO NOT EVER try to use the frame from a 70's LTD with the steering box to the rear of the front wheels. NEVER - walk away from it shaking your head and don't try to get around the wheelbase problem. It is a different wheel base from a Slick for a reason: it is to deter you from wa...

Bought a 66 CC shortbed last night

I needed a bed for my 65 as well as a passenger door and fender. So I bought a whole truck last night for parts. It came with some cool pieces like an underdash A/C unit and it has the window squirters. The frame and suspension are in great shape as is the cab. Just a few small holes in the floors a...

Thanks for all the compliments. My future plans for the truck include rebuilding the 351, some bags, and finishing the interior. Then some body work and paint. More immediate plans are to floor the bed and build mounts for it, new exhaust, swap out the Torino steering column, chrome bumber and grill...

My 65 F100 Project

Here it is in all it's glory. I found this on Ebay a few weeks ago and couldn't resist it. I love the way it sits and it drives really well. The truck is sitting on a 73 Torino chassis and uses the the Torino's 351C which is now backed by an AOD. I just added the wheels and tires, fixed a few other ...
