dakota chassis
Anyone tried putting a slick cab on the dakota chassis? I just bought a dakota for the suspension swap and was just wondering if there would be any advantages or if anyone had done it. The wheel base is not an issue for my project nor is the rise over the rear diff. Wondering more about the engine t...

Re: Head count
68 Be there Thursday. Don't have a slick to bring but hoping to see examples of dakota and crown vic front suspensions. Got pieces and parts to bring if I can get them gathered up in time.

Re: short bed on long bed frame
Six inches off the back and the four holes over the diff lined up exactly. Spot on longcab.
Anyone need a bed? Have brand new side moldings.- July 10, 2016, 11:01 pm

Re: short bed on long bed frame
The extended cab idea is what I'm planning on. This is the best one I've seen. Don't think I would put the windows in though.

Re: short bed on long bed frame
Actually I am seeing the problem with my question now. I am not turning a long bed truck into a short bed truck. I am putting a short bed "bed" on a long bed truck. Yes there will be a 14" gap between the cab and bed. For now. Just wondering if the four inner bolts line up the wheel w...

Re: short bed on long bed frame
I think slick4x4 answered what I was trying to ask. The two very front behind the cab and two very back ones obviously won't line up but if the two second from the front will line up the wheel wells over the axle I can drill the other six based off those two. Thanks! And thanks for you input as well...

short bed on long bed frame
Any one ever done this? Just wondering for certain if the four inner bolts are located the same with relation to the axle. Seems like they would have to be but haven't tried it yet or measured it. Can't imagine someone wouldn't have done it by now. Seems like it would be a simple matter of drilling ...

last minute dicision
Haven't checked with the hotels yet, thought I'd check here first. Was able to get vacation time at work for that week and am thinking of coming to check out SS after all. Kind of last minute but what the heck. If any one has a reservation they can't use let me know. Don't have a truck done to drive...

I'm not sure what this truck is for sure then. It has the F350 badges but the frame widens out under the cab. It looks like the front cab mounts and the radiator support mounts still line up correctly though and those are the more important ones. Thanks for the replys. Looking forward to Iowa if I c...

doner for F350
Found the donor I have been waiting to find for a F350 build. It is a 1974 extended cab F350 Camper Special. Has a 390 with power steering and power breaks. I found the thread in "projects and builds" but didn't find much on this particular swap. Looks like the radiator support and front c...

1977 F350
Anyone know off hand if power steering was available from the factory on a F350 in 1977. I am sure it was offered on a F250 but not sure about F350. Looking at a truck for the frame swap to a 1965 cab.
Thanks

bell housing conversion
I have an aluminum bell housing that, if I remember correctly from when I removed it from a truck I once owned, will allow a older manual transmission from a Y block to be mounted to an FE engine. Would there be any interest for this and if so what would it be worth, or should I just sell it for alu...

Dont like the black one at all... doesn't look right with the windshield tilted backwards. The red one would look very good on a short bed. Looking to chop a 65 shorted stepside. My plan is to shorten the bed to where the fenders are only three inches or so from the cab, and then matching that lengt...

Torino question
Seen quite a bit of people talking about Torino's and a Torino site similar to this one. Looking at possibly buying a one but wondering if price is in the ball park. It is a 69 GT convertible. 390 4V, C6, Says it is an S-code car. Haven't gone to look at it but pictures look good. Asking $12,000. Ri...
