Re: Tail gate won't open
When you take the latch handle off, you have access to the rods that release the tailgate. Use vise grips on the rods and make sure they move away from the side they lock. if they both move, then you are binding somewhere else.

Re: carb - boiling gas - diagnosis
I'd take the top of the carb off and see what might be in the float bowl. If you have sediment or rust, you still have an issue with the fuel system. Its pretty easy to replace the fuel lines. I'd also check the filler neck. If it is rusty inside, the sacale can get into your system. Also check the ...

Re: Engine possibilities for a 64
One great feature of our slicks is that the engine compartment is big enough to fit almost any engine you could consider. I do not know about the coyote engine having the same mount points as the earlier small blocks. This engine is so much larger due to the overhead cams, that most conversions comp...

Re: Headlight switch stuck
You've got a tricky problem, normally the answer would be take it out - but you cant take it out without pulling out the knob and shaft. The switch was available from NAPA as of a few years ago and is definitely available from suppliers as is the know and shaft. I'd disconnect the battery, and spray...

Disc brake conversion 1977 f150 on 1966 f100
This is just and FYI. This was the third time I've done this conversion. The firs two times, I just used everything from the 150 bolting the radius arms and ibeams in place of the 66 version. I also used all the f150 steering linkage. This time I was not able to use the f150 radius arms because on t...

I like the N series. Like to try and make one into a pickup like some of the new f550s i've seen.

You did a great job in a short time frame. Sounds like it is a riot to drive. There will be good dry days that you'll be able to stretch its legs through the winter, it'll just give you time to take care of those little things.

Re: Overhaulin
I like the show, though I wish they would show more of the 'how-to'. Personally I enjoy the work and tend to be bored with a vehicle once it is done. The cars/trucks I've kept the longest are the ones I haven't done much to other than keep them running. I have no use for a vehicle that is too nice t...

Re: Carb Troubles Autolite 1100
I wonder if your float is too high. That could provide excess gas at all time, but also allow the idle mixture screw to have no real effect.

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Glad you seem to be easing slowing back to task. I think you'd fined stainless tubing a royal PIA. Stainless is harder, thus harder to form and more brittle. Then you have issues with sealing for the same reason. I put stainless fuel lines on a car once and I'll never use it again. Looks good but mo...

Re: Styleside Box floors
Since they can do multiple lengths, I suspect they are rolling these (like a gutter machine) and not stamping them. That's why the profile is consistent front to back through the piece. Still a lot of work to have created the machine to run these out. Gotta appreciate someone filling the gap.

There was a post earlier. If you use firefox or chrome, you can use an extension to get the pics to display. We were not the only site hit by this. So much great information compromised! After I installed the extension, I can now see all the old photobucket pics. Here's the link I used: https://chro...

Re: Styleside Box floors
Didn't we already have an option in the 73-79 8' floors that have been available for a while. They are complete and come with cross braces. These do not have the correct stamping on the front and back edges (neither do the 73-79 as the frame width changed). They are certainly better than what so man...

Those leaks sure look like they are coming from inside the panels, which would indicate a leak at the rain gutter.
