i always liked to use an off the shelf if i used a gm alt... because if you have a gen or alt light the white wire in the connector will connect and tell you if it quits before you run down your batt.but if you have gauges it does not apply.

i have been doing the duraspark change for a long time. mostly on v8s but it always worked great. if you will look at the pickup in an msd dist and a duraspark dist they will inter change, its a very good swap for the $. also do not forget to regap your plugs .040-.045.
