Re: Lets talk power boosters and master cylinders

The Ebay link you provided seems like a good deal if it has the bracket and everything to work... If it bolts up with no welding or other brackets then that beats having to check local auto parts stores and ordering stuff. Just my :2cents:

Re: Vintage Air systems

Classic auto air is another option. I hear their kits are very nice and easy to install. I looked at both companies and decided to go with Classic Auto Air. I have dealt with them for my 68 Lincoln Continental in the past and they have great customer service and quality parts.

Re: 1966 F100 Build

Welcome! I am in Charlotte as well. Where exactly are you? I own a shop in Waxhaw which is South of Charlotte. As for SPI, it's great stuff but be careful with soda blasting and that etch and prime stuff you used when using SPI Epoxy primer. Later down the road you can have adhesion issues. I know a...

Re: Rust Neutralizing Paints?

I was talking about getting into the boxed areas and making your own POR15 one with a preval sprayer. Like how Eastwood has the spray can with the hose and nozzle to get into boxed frames, etc. Use the eastwood hoze/nozzle setup with POR15 and Preval sprayer.

Re: Rust Neutralizing Paints?

Eastwood and POR15 are both great. I hear mixed things about both are now UV protected and no need to top coat but I do not see that anywhere and I know for a fact that the last batches of both were NOT UV protected and needed a top coat. As for the stuff for inside frames and boxing, it works very ...

Re: FRONT CLIP DECISIONS CROWN VIC. OR DAKOTA ????

For cheap the Crown Vic wins but I do not like the width like everyone says and your limited to VERY few wheels. I do not mind not having a dish but how many stock looking wheels can you run with NO dish to them? I haven't found any yet. I know that Cragar SS wheels work but don't know the exact dim...

66 F100 Seat Bolt Size?

Does anyone know the correct length, thread size, etc for the bolts for the factory bench seat? I know there are 8 bolts but no clue on the size... Any info is greatly appreciated! I looked for the answer by searching here and Google but came up with nothing...

Re: GONNA SHORTEN MY SHAFT!

William and ras, do you guys have pictures of your setup from inside the engine compartment and in the cab? I'd like to see the joint and also the mount at the dash. I would love to throw a tilt column in my 66 F100 but unsure of what to go with. I was going to do the typical Chevy van column like r...

Re: "Motor Break In"

You need a zinc additive for flat tappet cam motors. I highly recommend running one at LEAST until the motor is broken in fully. After that I run Marvel Mystery Oil. I believe the GM additive that William In St George is talking about is GM EOS. I used to use it for every engine but recently found o...

Re: C4 Hard Shifts/Noise

Thanks a lot guys! I am going to check the U-Joints first thing. I thought about this being the issue ever before the transmission because of the ring out of the driveshaft but wasn't 100%. I have never replaced them since owning the truck so won't doubt it's the issue. Where do I buy new ones or wh...

Re: C4 Hard Shifts/Noise

Great, I will look into this guys! The transmission guy said he threw a shift kit in it which was one of my requests and my guess is it is a B&M. Is the TransGo or whatever brand name better? If so then I will have this swapped out ASAP. I will check the hoses and vacuum modulator. I have no clu...

C4 Hard Shifts/Noise

In my 66 F100 I have a 351W backed by a low mileage C4 transmission (no more than 20,000 miles) that I "supposedly" had professionally rebuilt by a local shop probably 5 years ago or so. I drove the truck daily and never had any issues with it but before I parked it for 2 years near the en...

Re: 100 lb box from Speedway!

cwindsor, let me know how it works for you! That price is pretty good and it looks like a nice unit. As for the prop valve that comes with it, it should be perfectly fine. I need to add power brakes to my 66 which I already have front disc brakes, dual MC and prop valve but an entire combo like that...

Re: windshield wiper arms

How is your 66 coming along Tim? I am trying to find a stock wheel and bench seat and power brake booster bracket for mine and it would be back on the road. I've had my eye on bench seats for months now and no luck at all. Found a few with no foam and rusted out springs that the guys wanting $250-$3...

Re: FabQuest Power Brake Unit?

If the rod I use is older style round rod instead of flat, is this the one that I would need to cut and shorten or buy a new end? Sorry for all of the questions here. I have read MANY threads on this but seems that every year requires a different setup, etc.

Re: FabQuest Power Brake Unit?

Thanks for the info. I own a 66 F100, sorry I should have mentioned that. Banjopicker, any idea where I can find the rod and bracket that you mentioned? I looked online at the local pull a part and no luck. If I can find one online or from a parts store that will save me time and gas money. Now that...

FabQuest Power Brake Unit?

Has anyone here ever used this kit from Fab Quest? m I am trying to decide if I will get a stock setup from the auto parts store and then find a OEM bracket or an entire aftermarket unit such as this one. I know either way I go will require some kind of drilling, cutting, etc but if the aftermarket ...
