Re: Dimmer switch blowing fuse

I installed a new wiring harness from Rebel wire. Maybe I should call those guys. It is fused. It's the fuse that operates all of my lights.

Dimmer switch blowing fuse

I replaced the dimmer switch and still continue to blow a fuse. I have not checked my ground on the headlights yet. Would there be any other reason?

Thanks.

Re: brake light and dimmer switch issue on 61 unibody

It pops when high beam is selected. I tried moving my wires around on the dimmer switch, but didn't work. The wiring harness is a new Rebel Wire. There are only 3 different wires to the back, your right. The lights out back are grounded to the screw that holds them to the body and the light itself. ...

brake light and dimmer switch issue on 61 unibody

I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out why I can't get any brake lights once I push on the pedal. Also, everytime I hit the dimmer switch, the fuse pops. I replaced the dimmer switch with a new one, but still doing it. Everything was working correctly until I moved the gas tank between th...

Re: Vin tag and frame vin

Interesting.....guess I'll be hunting a frame VIN tomorrow as I have someone wanting to buy it. It however does not have a door tag. Another buddy of mine said they didn't put them on there till 65. Anyone confirm this?

Vin tag and frame vin

I know this has been gone over before, but didn't see what I wanted. My vin tag is in the glove box. I'm still trying to locate the frame vin as the frame was POR15'd. Is that the correct spot for my vin tag? It's a 61 unibody. Vin tag and title match.

Change from T-5 to auto

Anyone know how hard it would be to change from standard from mustang to auto with overdrive? Wanting to trade out this standard to an automatic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Vibration at 40mph or so

Hey guys,

Have a dropped straight axle with disk brakes. Getting a vibration at around 40mph and up. Is that a common thing you might feel on a straight axle?

Also, can someone point me to the thread that deals with hooking up a gas gauge from a mustang tank to my 61 unibody. Thanks.

Re: Steering geometry

I don't have any problems with the steering rod and tierod ends. That clears fine. I wasn't sure you could heat up that metal on the spindle, I thought it would compromise the metal. So heat up the spindle arm and shorten the steering arm? That's what I was thinking about, just wasn't sure it could ...

Steering geometry

I have looked at some of the steering corrections on here. My truck is a 61 uni that is dropped with a few leafs out of front and a lowered straight axle. There is about 3-4" height difference from where the spindle mount and the steering arm mount off the gear box. Is it possible to cut the st...
