Re: 3/4 or full lenght headers for 351W in a '66?

i havent finished my truck, but our intentions are to use late model 302 mustang shorty headers. from our mock up they will clear. the only difference is that i changed my 64 f100 to mustang II front suspension but they should clear your factory steering box. hope this helps, eddie

Re: 9in center sections

as long as the rear you pull has 28 splines.you should be good..or at least all of the early ford truck rears have been 28 for me...alot of later ford trucks came with 31 spline axles.....i am not sure how to identify them on the tag...i usually find out the hard way..after i have pulled it!!!!LOL E...

Re: Exhaust manifolds

done some of these in the past... three things required..penetrating oil..some heat apllied(torches)...alot of patience how i used to do them was apply heat, try to move them,if they dont ,spray penetrating oil while hot,and it will draw itself into the threads..be careful doing this cause sometimes ...

it will shake your teeth out if you leave the weight on it. you should be able to buy an early or late flywheel for the 300 and it should fit just fine. just make sure the diameter is correct to fit your bellhsg. and when you put the trans in. make sure you ahve some endplay in the convertor. about ...

dave, what are you trying to accomplish?? standard gaskets are .040-.042, the thinnest i think the cometic ford gaskets go is .030, the standard gasket for them is also .040 but they do require a better finish but there is a way to work around that. i have a set of .040 of the MLS(multi layer steel)...

twan, the one thing you will have to make sure of is the flywheel. from 83 and up the balance weight went to 50 oz,the earlier were 28 oz,if i am not mistaken your 300 is internally balanced and doesnt require a weight on the flywheel. if you want to use the flywheel that comes with the trans. you m...

mustang II for me also...the only issue i have run into so far is you have to run the motor fairly high up,not to bad, but would like to have it lower. the rear sump pan hits on the p/s r&p. as far as the straight axle running at 70 mph, i wouldnt be as worried about how it drives as much as how...
