Re: Simon's 65
It has been awhile. Due to life, work, house projects, and what not, the 65 has been on the back burner. I did last week however pickup a complete power disc brake set up for it. Also finally picked up my manual transmission from my uncle. Swapping in a 3 speed, overdrive from a 1977 Granada. I figu...

That is a very cool chart! Could you explain the offsets on the chart? What do the letters mean, and what is the offset referring to?mercuryv8 wrote:http://boltpattern.net/Ford_Bolt_Patterns.htm
This site is good. Shows the centre bore and offsets as well.

Re: what coating to use on exhaust manifold
I've used the brush-on stainless steel colored stuff from Eastwoods years ago and it kept it's color pretty well. Sandblasted first then I used a foam brush. SPark I have also used this product. Seams to hold up well and look good years later. A little bit of the product goes a long way. I worked t...

Re: need help...360 exhaust manifold removal
Replaced the manifold gasket today. Bottom bolts and head pipe bolts came right out. The upper bolts felt like they were going to brake, so I heated the head up around the bolts with a small propane torch and spayed a little PB blaster. Bolt came loose and out! Used a flat file and a straight edge t...

Thanks for the feed back!
Is going to studs and nuts on the reassembly a better idea than using bolts? Any recommendations on brand of gasket to use?

Re: Clocks, incense burners, and other strangeness
Very cool! Functional art! I like all of the clocks that you have posted pictures of. Do you build things with an idea first and then find your material, or do you take materials and let them become your finished product? Did you ever figure out your shipping/packaging problem?

need help...360 exhaust manifold removal
So I finally get to fix the exhaust leak on my dads truck. The right side manifold had been leaking out the back port for years, and just yesterday, it blew out the center port gasket. So my dad decided that maybe it should get fixed now. I hear nothing but bad thing when one has to change the gaske...

If my wife thought I needed something like that, I would be worried about what kind of projects and work she was thinking up for me to do!
Joking aside, my first impression is that it is a jack of all trades and master of none. Would like to see how well it is built.

Re: Temp question 352 - is this too hot?
Being an electric gauge, you could have to much voltage going to the gauge causing it to read high, meaning a defective voltage stabilizer. You could also have a bad temp sender on the engine that is not reading correct. The voltage stabilizer (or constant voltage unit ) feeds power to the temp, fue...

Re: replacement radio
I have installed several Retro Sound units in other classic vehicle applications, and they seem to be a pretty good unit. Good quality and good sound. Fairly simple to use.
If I felt like indulging and treating myself to something nice for my slick, this would be close to the top of the list.
