Unibody For Sale

Saw this truck parked where I’ve seen it before, only this time noticed a For Sale sign on it. Not mine, obviously. 1963 Uni-Body Long bed F250 Y-Block 3-Speed Manual Air Bag rear http://rs1081.pbsrc.com/albums/j346/Dan_Hermann/ACF61D24-FB45-443A-8265-72D717134C19_zpsqapii3ky.jpeg?w=480&h=480&am...

Re: harder to find: 65 radiator or unicorn?

Although a lot of these answers sound similar, I wanted to share the solution I used. I have a '65, purchased a new '66 radiator, de-soldered the brackets off of my '65, soldered them onto my new '66 radiator...... Perfection. It's been a number of years since I did it, and had all the photos at th...

Re: Did a search for information on kickdown linkage and fo

For a customer with a '66 F100, 390, C6, I did a cable kickdown from Jegs, or Lokar, or similar. It was quick, clean, simple, and inexpensive. It would probably alleviate most challenges from Carb Spacers, Sloppy Linkages, or any other peculiarity we often encounter. With the intake swap we did, an...

Re: gear ratio for easier highway speed

Haven't figured out the ratio yet (no tag that I can find, hope to jack and spin this weekend), but installed a tachometer. It's running 2500 rpm @ 55 mph, and 3000 rpm @ 65 mph. Will post back when I figure out what the ratio is. There is almost enough information here to get your answer to your r...

Re: Wiring for hazards

It appeared to me that the Optional FoMoCo hazards plugged right in, inline to your existing components/harness. At least, that's how it worked out for me. I got the Dash Hazard Indicator, Switch, and harness all-in-one. When I went under dash to install, I unplugged two existing connectors from ea...

I looked online at Napa and O'Reilly's Auto, and neither of them carried the OE style washer pump.

Re: I'm goin' (acorn) nuts trying to find these!!

Danny, As I mentioned to you in my PM, Lowes did not have any idea what we were talking about. Your Lowes apparently carries items that mine does not. You nailed it on the head when you mentioned using these on the console lids, because that's exactly why I need them. Thanks for the idea, and thank...

Re: I'm goin' (acorn) nuts trying to find these!!

Danny,
I hope my local Lowe's carries them, too.

That's exactly the reason I am looking for them, too.

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to check Lowe's, and let you know if I find them.

Thanks.

Iceman,

That was close, but no cigar.

They have a pretty picture of almost exactly what I need, but they have never stocked them, and could probably only order in large quantities.

Thanks anyhow!!

I'm goin' (acorn) nuts trying to find these!!

Hello, One and All.... Because I have already called and/or visited 8-9 places, what I'd really like to know is who has these, and who knows where I can find them. There is an automotive specialty fastener company I remember reading about, but of course I don't recall the name when I need them for ...

Re: What have you found in the nooks and crannies of your sl

I would call the number and see if they, or family members, are still around and remember your truck. I was with my Dad when he bought the 66 F100 that is now mine on a used car lot in 1974. It had wooden cattle racks installed around the bed and had "Mountain View Farm" stenciled on the ...

Re: What have you found in the nooks and crannies of your sl

Magnetic door sign I found sticking to back of cab between cab and bed. The truck's been in our family since 1979, so the sign has to have been stuck back there for over 32 years.

Re: 66 Styleside rear bumper help

4324 If you did not already know, the rear bumper requires brackets, unlike the front bumper which bolts directly to the frame. For a long time, you could buy the rear bumper new, but nobody repopped the rear bumper brackets. They are available now. Hope this helps, and hope I am not just telling y...

Hope this helps

If I had been working on a short bed, I would have bought the kit. The cost of the Oak alone is as much as the pre-cut kits available in magazines. I would have purchased a kit rather than cutting one from scratch, except they did not offer a kit for the Long Bed Flareside. Cost of Wood plus Stain p...

I have a '67 bench that bolted directly into my '65.

The bench is wiiiiider on the '67, so it comes much closer to the door on both sides of truck.
