I have the stock Ranger buckets and I have just enough leg room (I'm 6'2"). Michelle, are you talking about the bucket in your Ranger?

Thanks guys. I'm kinda embarrassed I had the assemply backwards in my head. I thought the bushings were in the axle. I obviously misunderstood what the mechanic said. But I learned something and that's worth a little embarrassment. I'm gonna go with the metal bushings.

Thanks Don. I guess I'm not understanding the assembly. The kingpin does go thru the end of the i-beam - yes?

King Pin Help

My left front wheel is VERY loose - probably moves a least 5 degrees if you grab the wheel at 12 and 6 O'Clock with it jacked up. My mechanic says he would remove the entire i-beam and have it machined for an oversized bushing. I read here on slick 60s some guys recommend using the nylon bushings to...

I just noticed the credit goes to Carl for the first ID - Michelle found the first accurate picture. Sorry for the oversight, Carl. Michelle, you'll notice this ornament has one or two of the rear rocket fins broken off. You could easily even it up by shortening the others, but it might not look as ...

I'll leave it on until I start prepping it for paint. Since I love the idea of "stock," it won't go back on after that. But that is likely a couple of years away. Michelle, the prize is yours since you ID'd it!

Hood Ornament

I just got my truck last week. It has this crazy hood ornament that looks like it was made specifically for this hood. Anyone seen one before? It wasn't made by Ford was it?

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Sorry for the confusion about the year. I know my slick is a 66, it's just looks exactly like the 62 I had 40 years ago! Phil - No, I won't be ready for Hot August Nights given my limited time and $$. For now there a few things to take care of to make it a real ...

Another New Guy

Hello – I’m brand new to the group and I just got my truck a couple of days ago. I had a 62 slick when I was in high school and I made a lot of great memories with that truck. I also learned a lot about working on cars keeping my truck going. Now I’m 56 and my brother called me from Oregon last week...
