Yes and no. They have done testing on extremely high compression vehicles and found that they could get similar gas mileage as normal compression vehicles on gasoline. Modern gasoline motors are not made to to utilize the full potential of E85 with their low compression. They have tested motors up t...

You will need a method to add roughly 33% more fuel (or more depending on application and compression) to the bike, car, whatever. E85 is GREAT! It is like cheap race gas, but you have to be set up to run it. As mentioned above, it is awesome on forced induction vehicles.

Well done Sarg!, how about a before pic?, for a comparison! Here is the only kind of before pic. The bed was the blue color you see with paint chipping and showing the yellow you see underneath. This is also a pic of the patch I made. http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu290/sargmike/Truck%20restor...

You would never know there was a 6" hole in that bed anyplace. looks good. Eh, you can tell, believe me. Since I overlapped the patch rather than cutting it to size (my welding skills are still developing and overlap is easier for me :) ) you can see a definitive patch, but my thought is when ...

ehhhhh....not sure if I have a before. Imagine the bed painted with blue brushed on house paint, lol. Oh and a 6"x6" hole cut in it with what looked to be a torch! This truck was a bit of an undertaking when I bought it. But I enjoy restoration, so to me it is fun.

Finished the new bedliner!

Well, finished up today. It has taken me about 6 weeks of a little here, a little there. Yesterday I spent a solid 10 hours on the truck and finished getting everything back to bare metal, made and welded in a patch panel for the bed floor (I was proud seeing as I used nothing but a ball peen hammer...

One last note. If you have a 2 barrel manifold, get the Holley adapter. It fits much better and is not prone to vacuum leaks. Despite what Summit Racing says, it DOES come with hardware and gaskets. So do not order them again like I did. Seals better and fits right UNLIKE the Transdapt adapter plate...

Well, got them in today. I will have to wait till dark to give a review, but they went on super easy and look to be decent quality. Despite the blue tint, at this point it still looks white. I am betting that you could find them cheaper than what I paid though.

The bulbs look to be and will most likely get tossed for some different bulbs. I'll report back when I get them.

Curious about the ebay one. Did it come with the master cylinder? What did you decide to do about the dual line master cylinder? Did you just get a proportioning valve off a different truck?

Ok final post on this subject till the new motor goes in. Got around to dealing with most everything. The truck is MUCH more responsive than ever before. Runs good, drives good, seems to make more power. The only thing I don't like is I am not able to plug in and change the mapping on this old analo...

exactly right. That is another reason I recommended going to youtube and just listening to many many set ups. I actually think the Spintech stuff is awesome, but since they were over 3x the price of the Summit Turbo mufflers, I just could not justify it.

I guess it depends on your definition of better. The glasspacks will be louder, as will any straight through or race muffler. But that style is a bit much for me and is too raspy. I prefer a slightly quieter, less raspy sound. If you want loud and obnoxious, race mufflers (just about every muffler c...

It is, but not harsh and raspy. I think it is pretty darn good sounding personally. I just can't wait to see what it will sound like with the 460!

New exhaust review

So I decided to grab some new, non-rusted out glasspack, exhaust for my slick in anticipation of the 460 that will be going in. I looked around, listened to a ton of video and finally decided to go with the Summit Racing stuff (mainly due to cost and sound). If I had unlimited funds I think I probab...
