Re: tinworms be gone, a rant on por15

I don't like to see a good product get a bad rap.............I'm sure your problems are real, but I have had years of good luck with POR 15. I'm gonna continue to use it until I have a problem. Hope you find something that works.

Re: Axle Flip vs. De-arch Springs

I have in the past, reversed the eye on front and rear springs. I make sure the arc of the main spring is the same as it was when it was disassembled. You can get a few inches and keep the old ride. I like to remove a few leafs to get a softer ride. A longer shackle in the rear will get you lower al...

Re: Rust Neutralizing Paints?

I use the stuff NAPA sells, seems to work well. You will have to paint over all of these products so make sure your paint is compatable with it, most are.
NAPA stuff is brushed on by the way.

Re: Eight lug Wheels dressed up...........

I know this isn't what you were looking for, but I needed an excuse to post pictures of the 8 lug 16" "innies" on my 63 F-250. A couple of the large caps in decent condition came with the truck and I got two more from a member, then had them powder-coated "chrome" (which ga...

Eight lug Wheels dressed up...........

I just installed 8 lug Ford van wheels(16 inch) on my '64 F250. I like the look but I would like to improve them a little. Because they are "outies" the hub caps are just too big, for me. I'm thinking trim rings and chrome lug nuts..... Anyone have ideas or pictures of eight lug wheels.......

You will get many answers to this question. All I can say is how I do it. I always set the pinion at the same angle as the trans tailshaft. I set the motor first by setting the intake manifold/carb mount level(this should be about three or four degrees tilt back). Next set the pinion to the same ang...

Looks great Ctom, could you just notch the chassis to fit in between the cross member instead of making a new front end?, not questioning your method!, just we can`t just rebuild the front of the chassis, is must stay basically as it was!. We had to build the frame anyway so why not make it fit the...

I can assume you narrowed the crossmember to narrow the track, right? Did you also shorten the R&P? What engine are you using? I'm guessing it won't be a 4.6 or 5.4 since the built-in motor mounts on the crossmember will no longer fit. Looks like really nice work. Just curious about the details...

What alloy of aluminum is the crossmember made of? What weld procedure did you you when you narrowed it? Thanks! James We do a lot of aluminum welding here, but we did have to make an educated guess re the aluminum alloy. After we cut the 4 inches out we cut the extra piece and re welded them and d...
