Re: My Mercury says I thought I moved South
Tom, you better go apologize to that Merc & tell her it won't happen again - at least for another 10 years! And if it does, why by then you should have enough time to build her a proper garage! Otherwise, someone's likely to call the Mercury-welfare office and she could be taken away and put in ...

I asked my friend that I bought my 66 from if he "minded" if I painted it a different color... He looked at me kinda funny, & said: "I don't care if you paint it sky-blue-pink! It's your truck!" These are among his words I've lived by since.

Having "too many vehicles" (registered) shouldn't be against the law, but, as the sheriff in the Clint Eastwood movie "Any which way you can" said to the biker gang: "Boys, you violate the laws of nature, but we don't enforce those laws"

Re: Shoulder Belt installation thoughts and opinions/experie
OK, I'm all for the lack of Gov't intrusion, too... and foregoing the legitimate safety aspect of it...(ie, not flying through the windshield, etc) I look at shoulder belts this way: As long as it's a law, I will attempt to follow it, in order not to get pulled over.(if they ever repeal it, I will m...

Ohhh, don't get me started on Mad Max... When I went to Australia, I visited the site in "Coober's Peady" where they filmed the "oil refinery" scenes. And there's a guy in Toronto? Canada who has replicated possibly the best and closest Interceptor there is. It is gorgeous, and h...

It's not just the visual position - it's the ride quality. You expect these truckers to drive 150k per year sittin over the front tyre?? I don't think so. A friend who owns an insulation co. w/20 straight jobs, most of them Isuzus, drove one on a weekend snowmobile trip. He said never again, he had ...

Re: MetalFlake Slicks
Gorgeous job, the amount of work just masking, let alone spraying that finicky stuff, makes my head hurt. An old racing friend told me he "cheated" with an aluminum intake in the mid 60's by grinding the edelbrock letters off, spraying it metalflake ford blue (to match the heads) and when ...

About #1... With so few miles, and the need for a "rotisserie resto", they decided it was OK to repaint in a different color?? I thought that frost turquoise wasn't available 'til 67, and I don't think it's Carribean like mine...

"You can't do that" How many times have I heard... and AFTER I'd been in biz a few years with a partner, he decides to get out, and after a falling out, tells me "You'll be out of business in 6 months" Well, 25 years later I'M still here, and he is lonng gone. Don't tell ME I can...

Oh, Yeah, those are nice. Factory optional 78,79 & early 80's F150. I have 2 sets stashed. Bill & I found a pair in a Tucson junkyard still on a rolling frame (they scrapped it the next day) 10.00 for the pair :). Kinda skinny for the rear (unless you set them out w/spacers) They only came w...

My 66 has a batt. disconnect switch mounted on the rad. support, under the batt. tray, and I can activate it by reaching through the header. (The handle is flat black, and you can't see it unless you really try.) And under the hood, you just see the batt. cable disappear under the tray, then come ba...
