Re: 64 Tweety Bird
Hey Russ, probably a dumb question, but do you know if the dome blade is 12+ or a negative connection?loosrp wrote:Here you go Skip, I also used the EZ Wire Harness

Re: 64 Tweety Bird
Got started in earnest with the wiring today, A/C power hooked up, wiper motor switch installed, and the ignition switch in. The original light switch change over to the EZ wire harness is causing me to have gas. Can't decipher the Ford to GM scheme. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The big is...

Re: Houston, we have a problem
Oh man, that is horrible news about the accident.
Just glad Dale is ok.
Let me know if a driver door or fender is needed, I might have some good metal for the repair.
We need to get that slick back to normal. Is is one of the best I have seen.

Lol, nah, not just yet.62galxe wrote:You giving up on the yblock?
I saw an 85 E350 with the 460 and auto trans on Craig's list for 500 and it got me thinking. Might be good to get and just store the engine.
Plus the Y has been a little worried from my previous issues.
Still liking it thou.

Re: 460 in a 64
It will fit... Watch out for the manifolds in relation to the steering box and frame rails. You may want to just switch to headers. You will probably have to shorten the drive shaft due to the longer set up. LMC has a kit for the engine mounts, we fabricated a new Trans mount. Everything else is yo...

460 in a 64
Ok, I am sure this has been discussed before, but my searches are not bringing up the answers I need. Will a ford 460 and auto trans fit in a 64, with original axle and suspension? Engine is from an 85 E350. I know I will need a crossmember/mount, but I am curious about width, oil pan exhaust, etc. ...

Man, that is such BS. And this is why people who really need assistance from good people don't get it, cause you just can't trust them or the people they hang around. Unfortunately, my brother is one of those people in that situation and I have been burned some many times by him, I don't offer assis...

Problem Solved.....
Ok, so after finishing my frame off i have been enjoying the ride, the rumble of the glass packs and the thumbs in the air while driving it. But then I started having an issue with my 3 speed column shift popping out of third gear. I was also noticing that when I would give and let off the gas in se...

That is freakin awesome.
I wish I could afford to do that to my Y block.
Of course, I am hoping to just keep my recent rebuild in one piece.

Re: What have you done to your slick today??
While rebuilding my 292, again, I decided to add a reverse switch to the column shift 3 speed. Figured it was a good time with th front clip off. Simple momentary toggle, double stick tap and screw clamp. http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/bb410/Rusted64/4F4EAF3B-142F-486B-A195-A3079B7745AB-4043-00...

Probably a dumb question, but........
Ok, here it goes. If a trucks going in reverse and the truck dies, and the clutch stays ingaged, will the engine start moving in reverse? Or possibly rolling backwards, fast, and it being in 1st somehow? If it does, would that harm the engine, fuel pump, etc.? I am getting my engine back into the sl...

I called our local Oreily Auto Parts today and said I needed some parts for my Buick Wildcat. Here is the the jist conversation. Kid: hello, how can I help you? Re: Changing angle of 64 f100 steering box
I didn't like how close my belly was to the steering in my 64 either, so I just put a 13" grant wheel on it.
It gave me the needed room and a pretty good daily upper body workout.

Re: Blasty Blast (65 Slick rad swap/upgrade install)
One question.
Is it common to have oil coolers on the inside of the radiator?
I thought they are supposed be in front of the radiator, so the hot air doesn't transfer to the oil cooler.?.
Just curious.
Thanks,
J

Re: Mustang gas tank venting
Before I filled it with gas for the first time, I threaded a 3/8 hose barb just above the fuel filler so I could hook up a hose to coil up.
Seems to work well.

I think its a great idea. When I lived in California, my old boss did this exact same thing in 98. Called it "need a lift". It failed miserably, but I think it was the location and his original business he owned wasnt anywhere near the automotive industry. I would also be interested in a p...
