Re: "Anyone Ever Tried This Maneuver?"
Years ago, guys would come out to used car lots to carve white walls on cars on the lots. I watched one guy, and saw the finished product. He had a small kit, and was definitely good at it.

You know, if I could see, I would be dangerous. I was reading "BL" as black instead of Blue.

Re: Turn Signal Question
Okay, when I pulled the bulbs out of the back of the speedo housing, I figured I could use the wiring schematic in my manual to figure out the turn signal wire colors. (1st mistake) But, the manual for a 62 is the 61 manual, and any changes were put in a suppliment manual, rather than a new manual f...

So the cluster housing needs to be grounded? I ask as I tried plugging the two flasher bulbs in to see, but they didn't work. Also the speedo cable wasn't attached either.

Turn Signal Question
On my 62, I am installing a aftermarket gauges and removing the stock gauges in the cluster. It had the stock gas and temp gauge with a generator light (now alternator) and oil light. My turn signals worked prior to removal of the cluster, so everything is good on that end. The stock gauges are now ...

Re: Insulation
Tony, I called the folks at Ultra Touch and they said for my truck application put the foil side out. Yeah, their website says: The single-side foil product is great for acoustic applications where sound can be absorbed into the natural fiber side, leaving the foil facing to block radiant heat tran...

Re: Insulation
If you want to attach your insulation, the experts say put the foil side to the outside. Also, for the adhesive, I used contractor grade liquid nails, which doesn't seem to be effected by heat and what ever moisture is in the atmosphere. I'm getting ready to insulate mine and have a couple question...

...The change in length solves he premature wear out issue. Lube the new ones before you install them! Whileyour at this check the condition of the pivots. Sloppyness here will cause noisy wipers and proper parking issues. AS I might add will using equal length transmission arms. IMHO! This brings ...

Re: Wiper Transmission Arm Bind
Thanks for the input. I ended up taking off both arms last night to check them out. (They are both the same length) The passenger side arm is the the problem. The angle of one of the end was off , and needed a little tweaking to stop it from binding. It works now, but I did notice that one of the bu...

Wiper Transmission Arm Bind
Okay, one of these days I can move on from fixing these wipers. Like I posted before, I did the 2 speed wiper w/delay upgrade, and everything worked great...as far as when the windshield was dry I now find out. It was rainy the other day, and I was all psyched to use my upgraded wipers for real. But...

Re: Windshield Wiper Motor
Will that setup work with a 64 slick? I know the bracket for the wiper motor is the same for 61-64, and I just made the swap myself. I used a rebuilt Cardone 40-258 from Auto Zone which fits many Ford trucks from as early as 1966 to 1979, and picked up a used switch w/delay with wiring for cheap. I...

Thanks for the help everyone. I found out that the largest size to fit the battery tray was a group 29. After looking around my area for what was readily available, I opted for a Die Hard Gold, group size 27F. Comes with a 3 year replacement warranty, 825 CCA and 140 minute reserve. I installed it i...

Re: charging system
Do you still have the old generator in your truck? No, the PO replaced it with an alternator. I have a good old fashion alternator/generator repair shop across from my house, and the owner is awesome. He knows Ford parts very well, and I'm going to get with him checking out the alternator to see if...
