Re: Door Handles

I'll give the swap a shot! Thanks. Guess it's good we are wearing them out, be a shame to just sit there and last forever.

Re: Door Handles

Anyone else see the same thing? I have 3 drivers side doors that are all loose and 2 passenger doors that are good and solid on the button.

Door Handles

I have a question, more out of curiosity than anything. On my 62 Uni and the two spare doors I have I find that all three drivers side doors have an odd similarity, the door handle push knob. All 3 of them are loose and wobble like a loose tooth about to come out, I have two passenger doors that are...

Thanks Iceman, most of what I have bought is through flashback, it is the D.C. rubber if I understand right?

Re: Window rubber

I too plan to use D.C. based on all the advice here but have a questions. Is the unibody back window the same as the standard truck back window? Some of window rubber kits that include front and back say not for Unibody, I know there is the big back window uni that is obviously different but the sta...

Re: Sources for new body fasteners

I think you'll be hard pressed to find them in 24 thread, if you need to change them all out I'd just give in and go with the course thread. I am needing the same to rebuild my front clip. Need all new fender bolts, radiator support bolts, valance bolts, you name it. 5/16 - 24 by 1 1/4" and 1&q...

Re: Sources for new body fasteners

Well...... here's my excuse, I have a few that broke, the majority are all still fine and hidden away under this or behind that in their little hidden worlds. I'd like to keep them the same so I don't have to remember which ones are 16 and which are 24. In my mind if you mix them and snap in a hidde...

Re: Sources for new body fasteners

Looks like a candy store!!! :D So you do have the 24 thread (fine) u-nuts? Also, are your bolts the tapered tip so they start easy in the u-nuts?

Re: Uni vs Seperate Bed

I don't use my Uni to haul much, I have an F250 for that. However from the looks of the bed of my Uni it has been used to haul, a lot! No sag in my cab at all and I haven't done anything to reinforce anything at all. I think there was rumor that the uni would twist and flex and pop the doors open as...

Re: Sources for new body fasteners

Checked all 3 Ace Hardware stores in my area, no 24 thread u-nuts, 16 only, looked online and didn't find much online either which leads me to believe they aren't real popular. There were a few options online but not much.

Re: Sources for new body fasteners

Absolutely no worries on the concourse stuff, my issue is finding the 24 thread extruded u-nuts because I have most of the bolts just some broken u-nuts, if I had to cut them out then I'll replace those with coarse. Be nice to have them all the same so you don't spend an hour trying to put a coarse ...

Re: Sources for new body fasteners

What size do you have? I need some 5/16 24. I broke some of mine getting the grill out? I can't seem to find any 24 thread, 16 thread are readily available.

Re: Removing the grill - Ford was very cruel

Dang Paul, I was hoping the keenserts was some magical way to get out the extruded u-nuts that break off!! Just finished getting my grill out, had to take the sawsall to a couple of the bolts with broken u-nuts BUT I WON!!!!!!! I'm thinking this u-nut thing on the Uni is going to make tearing down t...
