Re: Edelbrock Performer 390 + edelbrock performer 750= ???

A stock 390 can be pleanty peppy with the correct carb and headers alone. Do you have the factory C6AE R heads? Those are amoung the best street heads you can have. Check out fordfe.com and search the great intake comparrison. The factory intake out performed some of the aftermarket intakes. I beli...

Re: Edelbrock Performer 390 + edelbrock performer 750= ???

why does it need a rebuild? If you need to clean it jist reove the metering rods and the top of the carb and wash it out and blow it out, otherwise there isnt much you can rebuild. Many carbs get "REBUILT" for nothing. Well my father mentioned that when he ran the truck it began to sputte...

Need crown vic info quick!!

OK SO I HAVE MY HANDS WRAPPED FIRMLY AROUND A 2006 CROWN VIC FORMER CAB WHICH WAS WRECKED IN THE REAR FOR A WHOPPING $300! But the only issue I see is the engine has not been removed. my question is this, does the engine have to be pulled out in order to drop the crossmember? And any specialty tools...

Re: Edelbrock Performer 390 + edelbrock performer 750= ???

Like always S**T happens! I began to pull the original exhaust manifolds off this weekend and I broke a bolt which happened to hide inside of the block. I attempted to drill the sucker out but broke a few bits in the process. So now the headers are on the backburner. But as for the carb i was able t...

1/2 Ton to 3/4 Ton Spring Pocket Swap to get LOW!

So it appears that i have another option in lowering the front of my '66. By swapping the spring pockets from my 1/2 ton to those of a 3/4 ton (F250/350 I take it) i am able to achieve a 4-5" drop. Now I can understand the concept, but i dont know the difference between the two. So if someone ...

3/4 ton from a 61-66? Did you use the springs as well?

By notching will it compromise the integrity of the crossmember? And as for travel I rarely load this thing up so it shouldnt be an issue...

Re: Re-drill Twin Beam Pivot Point to get LOW!

Been quite awhile since I had a twin I truck but; I was looking at the same thing, as long as the geometry remains similar and there is travel room don't see any reason it can't be done. You will also need to adjust the radius arm pivot to match. Watch out on the steering linkage geometry too. You ...

Re-drill Twin Beam Pivot Point to get LOW!

Hey guys, anyone ever heard of redrilling the beam pivot point higher on the bracket to lower the front? I ran across a post on another site, and the dude said he redrilled the pivot hole higher and cut his springs 5" to accomadate for camber. With this he was able to achieve a 3-4" drop. ...
