Re: Too quiet around here......

I have noticed the slow down too. I usually just lurk and don't post to much and a lot of the time I don't log in. I've been working hard on my truck the last couple months and would like to get it finished (drivable) this year I have only been working on it for 6 years. I guess I am lucky in the se...

Re: My New custom cab cluster and 'stock look tach"

The only thing that botheres me about the tach is that its slightly smaller than the f800 tach so, it sits right on rhe trim ridge and sticks out. That bothers me too. It's one of the many things on the list of stuff to do, but I figure I should worry about putting my cab back on the frame ... Ya, ...

Looks good, I put one of those tach's in my chrome argent cluster a couple years ago and am putting the vacuum gauge on the side also as soon as I find another one or the local wrecker finally desdes to sell the one out of the f800 they have.

Re: Another fix question from PO's

If it's an original or original style V8 rad you can unsolder the brackets and swap them side to side had to do this with my dads truck ended up with a recored 65 rad for his 66. It's a pain to do but not too bad only took maybe an hr or so to do.

Re: Neep some help on a dipstick tube 66 -240

That oil pan is off of an 80's ford ( or possibly someone put a 300 in out of an 80s truck) the 240s and early 300 have a short dipstick tube in the block. There should be a hole with what looks like a tiny frost plug, the original dip stick should go there.

Re: '65 canadian-built special-order codes

Glad it was (well sort of) some help! funny there was so many differences I guess they must not have been on the same page when writing the manuals. The typo in my book is pretty interesting too I had never noticed that before. There was also a couple more pages of front axle codes and truck registr...

Re: Hauling a Slick Cab

Unfortunately a ranger bed is 2.5" to narrow for a slick cab. (even went and measured) My suggestion would be if you want to use the ranger is get some 2x4 and make a frame inside the box for it to sit on above the bed rails.

Re: How many crewcabs built in 1966?

I don't think there was a break down for crew cabs but I think there was more built than most think, the problem was they were used and abused then sent to the wrecker when they too far gone ( at least in my area there was 3 or 4 back in the day but none are left now) The easiest way to tell if it's...

Re: Pls Post: ANY & ALL Slicks with FoMoCo Padded Dash

I thought all 66's came with a black padded dash, mandatory because of safety regulations and it was a standalone option in the other years. In our family there is 6-66 pickups all with padded dashes 2-65 (1 is even a ranger) and both do not have a padded dash. There is also a 64 and 63 parts trucks...

I hope mine works better than that I did my sway bars, front I beams, transmission and some other odds and ends. I had 2 cans the first one was good but the second one all my parts I painted with that can have gone chalky from sitting in the sun both cans said uv resistant so I think they screwed me ...

4-6 isn't so bad considering the size. Work gives me a 13 Chevy 3500 with the 6.0l and it doesn't get more than 10mpg
