Re: brake booster
I can't tell from the Rock Auto listing, but be sure the booster you buy is for the correct front brakes. In other words, they make disc/drum boosters and drum/drum boosters. A drum/drum booster used for applications with disc front and drum rear will not work. The drum booster has lower PSI output....

Re: DJM dream beam questions
I have DJM dream beams on my 65 Crew Cab. They are great and allow you to use stock offset wheels, unlike a CV front end. Don't know about the Dakota front end.
I would have no hesitation to use the dropped beams.

I got mine from Deep Ellum auto glass. They are in Dallas and they do ship. I paid $110 for my windshield.

Re: truck "wanders" when driving
Solved my problem. Since Skip, Paul, Frank, Robert and Tom are a lot smarter than me, they helped me to diagnose the simplest problem. I changed the rag joint and all is good now.
Thanks guys!

James,
61-64 Inner fenders and core supports are different than 65-66. Inner fenders for 65 and 66 are also slightly different from each other but will interchange with a little work.
Sounds like your part collecting is getting serious. Good luck

Re: turqoise interior questions
John, As you know my 61 uni is red and white. My steering column was originally white and the wheel was red. May have been as a result of the two tone because the top of my dash is red and the lower portion is white. I'm 99% sure that is how it came because I saw no evidence that any other portion o...

Re: truck "wanders" when driving
Paul, I did contact DJM and since I used their tie rod end extensions (to eliminate bump steer) and toed the front in about 1/8", they could not offer any more advice. I re-greased the new king pins and checked all the new tie rod ends, etc. Also, both alignment shops said the caster and camber...

Re: truck "wanders" when driving
Guys, thanks for all the tips. I have new Cooper tires ands all new bushings, etc. front and rear. I'm still baffled. I have DJM dream beams and those are the only non-ford items on the truck. I wonder if the dropped beams could contribute in some way? The alignment guys told me the caster/camber wa...

truck "wanders" when driving
I have a 65 F100 and have changed everything on the front end of this truck. It has new PS box, new king pins with brass bushings, all new tie rods, links, and arms, etc. I have exchanged the steering box twice, I have had it aligned, and re-aligned. I have not been able to find anyone that can iden...

Re: The story of two 1966 Slicks
Simpler solution to your speedo issue is to buy a VSS to mechanical speedo converter from Dakota Digital or Cable X. I used one in my uni and it works great with the early truck rear end.

Re: Stock speedo to zf5
I used a "Cable X" box (made by Abbott) to convert the electronic output to drive my stock speedometer in my 61. Fully programmable calibration so once tires are installed, the speedo can be set perfectly. I believe Dakota Digital also sells a similar unit.
