Well, I grew up in Utica and lived in Syracuse until '98... but it seemed like most of what you saw up there were Chevys or Fords with Chevy engines in them.. got the truck and engine back into my garage today, the 289 sitting in the bed of the '64 http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee76/barkingbeagle/641-5-10.jpg I kind of like how low it sits with the weight of the engine in the bed... here's some shots of the block before we rolled it back in the garag...

the rebuilt 289 in the 64 I got from Sinc is toast: cam failure, crack in the block, full of water, etc.... the engine is apart now, I'll post a pic when I get to the shop with a camera; it's got a lot of good parts on it still so I'm planning on getting a long block rotating assembly for a replacem...

Thanks for posting the link, looks like a great place to spend a few hours. Anyplace that displays old cars, trucks and airplanes together like that is pretty cool. A nice old diner nearby would make it a complete day trip for me.
