In similar circumstances not sure I would do it. BUT, it is your truck, do what you want and not worry about what others think. You could always store the 223 and trans away and drop back in down the road if you have a change in thinking.

Looking at the LMC catalog, appears the headliner for a 63 custom cab headliner is different than for a 66 but I cannot tell how. Assuming one had access to a free 63 headliner, any reason to think I could make it work?

Went up to the shop that offerred to handle my 63 wrongbed restoration. Does not look like it is going to happen and may simply but it back on ebay (but that decision is for another day). The owner of the shop has a good number of Mustangs and mentioned a UTE he had for sale at one of the Charlotte ...

$24K at the BJ auctions is chump change for many of those attending. What I fail to comprehend is what type of man (assuming the purchaser is male) would have the stones to actually drive that truck in public.
