Re: The story of two 1966 Slicks
I will have to get that converter Rich but the issue is the AOD working with the obd2 ECU. If the computer isn't getting a signal from the tranny it will throw codes and may affect how the engine runs. It will just give me peace of mind to know that all the components in the driveline are compatible...

Re: The story of two 1966 Slicks
So after a ton of migraine inducing research on fuel injected options, I have settled on a 5.8L with an E4OD. Now the issue I was running into is I wanted to go with the OBD2 for its programming capabilities and better processing ability. The issue I was running into was the vehical speed sensor tha...

Re: The story of two 1966 Slicks
So I have sold the 428cj and essentially have more than doubled what I had originally paid for the whole truck. Now I have to decide between a either a 4.9l EFI inline 6 or a roller 5.8L efi. They both have pros and cons so it has been a difficult decision. If I could find one at a good price I woul...

Re: The story of two 1966 Slicks
Got a few more steps forward on the F250. Pulled all the wiring harness out and stripped the interior so I could scrub the smell n grunge out. I need to patch up a couple holes in the trans cover. Gonna take the truck to a steam cleaner and get the engine bay, under carriage steam cleaned. I am usin...

Re: 65 rust free cab, bed and chassis in SF Bay Area
I tried to reply to all the PMs people sent but if you didn't get a reply I appologize. My iPad seemed to send them but they didn't show up in my sent folder.
Did anyone contact Richard and get the cab? I would really hate to see it go to scrap.

Re: The story of two 1966 Slicks
Went up to Fremont today and stripped a 65 today. Got the whole front clip with a 66 grille, complete doors, tailgate, aluminum side trim except right side rear corner and all the interior bits and bobs. Also got a brand new front windshield and a new tempered rear glass. All for $300. Unfortunately...

Re: 65 rust free cab, bed and chassis in SF Bay Area
So I went and stripped everything off the truck today. Still need to go back tomorrow for the hood. I inspected the cab and there is absolutely no rust anywhere. If interested contact Richard at 510-790-2675. It will only be ther for another week then off to the scrapper. This cab is about as perfec...

65 rust free cab, bed and chassis in SF Bay Area
I'm going to buy a bunch of parts off a parts truck this Saturday what will be left will be the cab that according to the owner is rust free. The long bed with a little bit of rust and the rolling F250 chassis. If it doesn't sell it will be going to the scrapper. I would take it but I am out of room...

Thanks for those links James. Those are some really cool trucks! How were those pics found on the web? What was the key word(s) used to search?

Re: The story of two 1966 Slicks
That's the intension LM14. Should bring decent money. So after a lot more research, this is what I found about my 428. The block is actually a 71 Ford "service block" and what that is is a block that was sold over the parts counter from Ford. It is a true Cobra Jet. It was never installed ...

Re: The story of two 1966 Slicks
Well Foodstick, it was actually kinda slugish due to the drum brakes binding but, you could tell it wanted to get up and go. So after a few conversations with some of my car buddies (including kstones63) I have decided to sell the 428. As cool as it would be to have the bragging rights with it under...

Re: The story of two 1966 Slicks
So got the engine and trans out the other night. Put the trans on a dolley and put it away for now. Got the engine on a stand and discovered that, what I thought was going to be a standard passenger car 428 was really a 428 Cobra Jet! Here are a few picks of what I found http://i1234.photobucket.com...

Re: Greetings from San Jose Ca.
you never know what you'll find until you dig a little deeper. So I got the motor and trans out of the white F250 the other day. Pulled them out as a unit then unbolted the trans and put it on a cart. Removed the flexplate and to my amazement, not only is this a 428 but it's a Cobra Jet! It has the ...
