Re: Radiator Core Support - 2 different par numbers

Just an FYI the core support is different for a 6 cyl vs an 8 cyl. Dennis carpenter's was an 8 cyl support and i was installing a rebuilt 240 engine. There wasn't any room for the fan on the water pump. Thank goodness from talking to someone who knew something (my dad), i had the radiator shop rever...

Re: Are there any aftermarket hoods for a 65 F100

luckily only minor scratch on drip rail above windshield. I was test driving to get ready to go to Ford nationals next week for its first real car show. It reminds me of a small show i went to in Pigeon Forge where a yellow F1 had a huge dent on his hood where he hit a turkey on the way to the show....

Re: Choosing a slick that will run with modern traffic

Just finished rebuilding my 65 F100 with 240 cid and 4 speed on floor T-18. i have 3.00 rear end and it will run on the interstate at 70 mph and 2500 RPM. The granny gear first gear helps but i can easily start off in 2 on flat ground. Did beef up the 240 with clifford 6=8 and new cyl sleeves.

What oil should I run in a rebuilt 240 in my 65 F100

Quick question what modern oil type and weight should i run in a rebuilt 240 cid 6cyl in my 65 f100. I've heard i should run oil with extra zinc in it but wanted to hear what you guys thought. Re: radiator core support.......1965 F100 HELP!

One thing i learned from my core support change out on a 65 with 240cid 6cyl. The replacement core supports are made for V8 as the mounting point for the radiator is a few inches closer to the firewall than the factory setup for the 6cyl. The factor 6cyl radiator mounted flush to the core support du...

Re: Stumped by the charging system.....

I have just been through this with my truck. You need power to the voltage regulator before it will work. It is normally supplied by the 12 volt source to the alt light which will be on with the key in the on position before you start the engine. My alternator wiring diagram said that i could apply ...
