you can use Loctite 640 or 660 retaining compound to reinsert your bearing race . it is made for press fit or slip fit
and provides a sheer strength of 4000 lbs

LOCTITE makes a product to to use in the bearing races to tighten them up
I used it in a king pin bushing I couldn't stop from turning trying to ream it
works great I will post the number and type when I go out to the shop

Here are a few pictures of the truck being painted . truck is still not back together, now I have decided to repaint the rad support and inner fenders , repaint the steering column, new carpet and head liner

have you got the proportioning valve plumbed int the rear brake line also you might require the use of pressure risidual valves 10lbs valve on rear line and 2lbs valve on front line with the proportioning valve on the back brake line.

i use both the idiot light and a mechanical gauge with a t fitting broke the oil pump drive once in my fe by the time i noticed the gauge the damage was done my engine builder an old timer race car driver suggested this as you will notice the light immediattly when it loses pressure

check your king pins as well for wear and make sure they are greased well also have you done any mods to the truck raise the rear lower the front if the king pins get standing to straight up and down instead of leaning back this will also make the truck hard to steer

soda will not remove rust and leaves metal to smooth for paint i stripped the paint off mine with a razor blade down to the primer then sanding was a breeze then you only have to blast the rust
