I have my reservations made, and I am sure Gerry has been doing a lot of research into what will replace the mud volleyball.

Re: Very nice looking 63 LWB Uni - $1500
Looks to me that the top of the tailgate is damaged. I can get a Mercury uni in almost that shape for the same price, with a good gate.

Re: XL update
So what is the chance of it making it to another all Ford show in Kansas City this summer, that would be way cool.

Re: Dakota crossmember
I would strongly suggest going with the dakota over the mustang, and if you go with the ram 1500 rotors from the late 80's then you have larger braking surface. You can always have the rotors redrilled, I had it done for a 5x5.

Re: 61 Mercury grilles
Got out to look at the chrome grille and it is rough but in better shape than I thought. Even it has the letters over the ford lettering. Owner wasn't home so I couldn't get a price.

Re: 61 Mercury grilles
I know it is for sale, but I think $1800 is just a tab bit too much. It is not in the best condition either as the truck has some fornt end damage. But I will see what he is asking, it has been a while since I have seen it. At last Slick Stock I had a set of badging for a 63 for sale, but I got a bi...

Re: 61 Mercury grilles
Checked out a second painted grill and it is the same as mine, I think I know where a chrome one is and hopefully I can check it out tommorrow.

Re: 61 Mercury grilles
Wow, I had no idea that's how that was done. Does that apply to both painted and chromed Merc grilles? I thought for sure I'd seen a painted Merc grille that had the letters stamped in before. I could be wrong though as I only saw it in a photo. Are the letters the same as the ones on the valance o...

Re: 61 Mercury grilles
Brian we are both right, the Mercury used the ford grill and placed the letters over the ford letters, no mercury grills were stamped with Mercury in them. Here are a couple pictures of the rad side of the grill. http://i448.photobucket.com/albums/qq210/61Merc/Mercury/Grill2.jpg http://i448.photobuc...

Re: 61 Mercury grilles
Are you looking for just the grill or are you also looking for the letters? Do you have a good FORD grill that you could adapt to a MERCURY one? I am asking this as my grill has filler bars in it for the three letters between the FORD letters. I can maybe get a picture of mine to show you what it is...

Re: "Anyone Ever Tried This Maneuver?"
I don't think I will ever try that, and I don't believe that you can do it with the majority of the tires. All the tires I used to work on in the tire shops I worked do not have white rubber under the black. To do a different color wall on a tire, the sidewall needs to be grooved and then filled wit...

If I recall right, the uni's were the only ones that had the two piece headliner. My brothers 63 wrong box had the 4 piece and my 61 had the two.
