Autolite 1100 Carb

Some 1100s have a rod across the top front that connects to a lever. Others have that rod and lever removed and the hole plugged. Is that rod necessary for any configurations?

223 Question

This may be a stump the experts question. Does the 64 223 have a different oil pump then the 63 223? 2nd bonus question. What will happen if you put a 64 pump in a 63 block?

Easy 223 question

Bit embarrassing as I forgot to make a mental note. Is the generator/alternator bracket attached to the water pump bolt?

Fuel Pump

I picked up a NOS fuel pump that has the filter. When I cracked open the filter, time as formed some sort of white deposit on the inside that sort of looks like calcium, but Lime Away does not dissolve it cleanly. Any ideas and what will remove it?

Re: Clutch release bearing

OK. I found the correct bearing (on hub) from Partsgeek.com. The ironic thing is that they are the ones that sold me the clutch kit with the wrong bearing

Re: Clutch release bearing

I just lucked out and found an old one (long story). I did not know they were 2 pieces, but I see now. However the one that came with kit still has an ID way way too big and would not push on hub. I have a picture of it is too big for this site. However, now having a old one tells me a lot.

Clutch release bearing

Can anyone point me to where I can get a correct throw out bearing for a 64 F100 223 3 speed? The one that came with the SACHS clutch kit is not even close. Jeez. I have looked at the typical places that they all look like the one in the kit (or similar).

Re: Hood Hinge Question

I got a set from LMC. They seem ok. Mine were made in Argentina where there are probably many Slicks still going.

Carb Question

I have a 64 223 manual. My 1 bbl carb is the 1101 Autolite. On the top front, there is a rod that is connected to an arm on the side of the bowl. I just bought a rebuilt carb from AutoZone and that rod has been removed and the hole in goes into is plugged. The picture on their website SHOWS the rod....

Based on experience, get seals (all kinds) made by Carpenter.

i think the pan holes are actually symmetrical and can go either way. The deep end is in the back on the car (and shallower) and on a truck the deep end is to the front and the pan is actually a bit deeper itself. I love the 50s and 60s!!

Iceman

You have to look close, but there is a slight difference in the 2 I have. I bet it is truck vs car. Or the 223 from the 60's (only truck) vs 50s.

I don't know, but I bet it did. Has a 3/4 inch hole (large) and not the 1/4 inch on my old one.
