rare??
Let's see now I have a '61, but it is a stepside. Does it count as rare? If it does then the number keeps getting smaller b/c I saw another 61 a few weeks ago in PF TN @ the F 100 show. Somebody better grab that thing quick. ... What a joke

auto transmission
my 3 speed is fine the only problem I have with it is my left knee gives me fits when I am in traffic and have to use the clutch a good bit. i was just thinking that an auto would work great if it would bolt up. I have a strong 292 that doesnt have many miles since the rebuild.

auto transmission
is there an automatic transmission that will bolt up directly to a 292? after seeing some of the trucks at the F100 show in TN this weekend I am thinking about an auto trans conversion.

clutch seal
Thanks for the tips and hints. I am still looking for a replacement part, but I may have to make a quick fix from flat rubber. I think I have an old bed mat somewhere. If y'all happen to run across the replacement just let me know

question about a part
hey guys, I am looking for a part for my '61 F100. The diagram on the NPD site called it a seal for the clutch rod. It is the rubber grommet type covering that covers the hole in the floorboard where the clutch rod runs through. I cant seem to find the part on the LMC website and NPD said it is no l...

what's the damage
I can't say what it would have cost in '63, but my '61 cost $1900 brand new. My great uncle bought in new here in town. It is bare bones and didn't come with a heater at the time.

loves them oldies
Man you nailed it. Have you ever noticed how nice it is to be able to open the hood and actually see an engine? No electronics, no gadgets in general. Shoot my heater was an added option even after my uncle bought the truck. It is the perfect little heating unit too. A simple little unit controled w...

y blocks
If you want to run duals on a truck and can't get ramhorn manifolds you can buy y block headers. Reds Headers sell them and they have their own website so you can find exactly what you want. It is one of the best things that I did to my '61. I used to have the wrap around exhaust and now have true d...

favorite engine
My favorite would have to be the 292. I am a little biased though. I have a 292 in mine. The only draw back I have found is that the guys at the parts house are not familiar with it and it is a little hard to get parts for. Runs like a top though.

61 F100 Stepside
I am new to this site and I just wonted to stop in and say howdy. I have a '61 F100 stepside that my great uncle bought new right here in town. The truck has been used for a lot of different things over the years. When the truck was new it was bought so cheap that it did not come with any accesories...
