Topic: Which wire kit to buy?

I used EZwiring- cheaper than Painless, but everything was there that I needed and the wires were of good quality and guage. I used the 12 fuse kit. If you get the 21, take a look at the fuses you get. Most of the time you're not going to need all the extras and you'll just end up with extra wire yo...

I measured about 3 1/4" from the window to the edge of the interior door panel. There is a metal bar that supports the window frame and the clearance for that is just under 3". I have a map pocket in my door and the enclosure is 3" deep all the way through but it is tapered inward at ...

That's true, most body shops you talk to will tell you there's no money in restoration. They pay the bills by working with insurance companies on collision repair. All they have to do is replace a fender on a car and make three times as much as anybody would be willing to pay on a restoration. Resto...

What do you mean by, "they were tacked in and primed"? Are all the seams completely welded? Sometimes you don't want a continuous weld over large seams of sheetmetal, it'll heat it up too much and it will warp. Sometimes it's better to tack weld the piece in and then fill in the rest of th...

I just did the same swap on my 68 truck. I used a spacer between the carb and intake. I left it with the open spacer plug and didn't use the 4 hole plug. Everything runs fine after messing with the timing for two weeks off and on. I discovered the distributor was loose. I ended up tightening the dis...

Thanks, I was just wondering because DJM had different part numbers for the lowered I-beams. I'll make sure to call up and ask before I order them.

I-beam question

I have a 66 F100 and I am doing a disc brake conversion. I have the spindles, discs, and calipers from a 1976 F100. I plan on buying DJM lowered I-beams. Because I now have 76 spindles, would I need to buy I-beams for a 1976 to match the king pin size?

That's good to know 6166 Junkyard Dog; I forgot to mention, the disc brake kit is a lot cheaper from Speedway Motors. However, I found out after placing the order, the shipping will be $60 because of the heavy freight (Standard UPS). I haven't checked the shipping of the other places so who knows, I...

I just placed an order for the deluxe kit a few days ago. We'll see how it goes. I need to find a master cylinder, metering and proportioning valves, and hoses. This is the least expensive "complete" kit out there right now. It seems to be all the same parts as the rest.
