Re: contact the sears service center

What is really bad is that the manufacturers do not want you to have this tool....Several places I looked when buying mine would only sell to "manufacturer certified mechanics". That made me more determined to get one.

I actually have a Poulan chainsaw and a mantis type tiller that both utilize that carb. Plus I like new tools

If you don't want to modify the screws you can always buy one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Poulan-We ... B000P8GKO2

Re: Electric Generator Won't Run

Sounds like an issue with the valves. You can have gas and spark but with no compression you get zip. May be a coincidence about the throttle controller, but to me it sounds like a stuck valve or other issue (rings, piston) preventing proper compression. Use a compression tester to verify.

I have seen boys his age doing tractor pulls with sportsmen and modified tractors. Give the boy something he will be proud to drive! My boys were on my MF 135 from age 8 on. Just my 2 cents.

Heard a report today that one third of the high prices of oil right now is due to speculators. Also heard a report that gas could hit $6.00 if the right things happen (I guessed that one is a speculator trying to increase the obscene profit he is already making). Capitalism is such a wonderful thing...

Looks to be either a newbie who does not understand automatic bidding or a hacker willing to send a phony check for three times the selling price which is cashed and the extra money wired to another country? Or possibly one of their "friends" jerking their chain?

Here is a pic of the install. Note the socket head cap screws where the hex head ones would not fit.

I installed a similar set on my truck when the OEM one disintegrated. I fabbed a cover plate to cover the heat riser hole. I also had to use socket head bolts in a couple of places to clear the intake manifold when the hex head bolts had interference with the intake. I would sell mine but I would ra...

Ok. Let me see if I got this straight. You had an unused intake on a shelf in your shop. You had no money nor plans to make any money by selling said intake. You see an ad from a 14 year old who needs an intake so he can get his truck running. You agree to a price of $50. You then check on ebay and ...

Give the intake to the kid....Maybe he needs a mentor? $50 might be alot for a 14 year old but its small beans for a working stiff when you consider how much good you can do here. Just my $.02.

I used an '80's style GM alternator on both my MF tractor and slick with 223. I fabbed a bracket to mount it and jumped the exciter to the charging terminal. Has been working great for nigh onto 20 years. Rewiring around the regulator was easy, just delete one wire and butt splice the other.

I used a MC for a 69 Mustang with drum-drum reservoirs. Other than the obvious replumbing needing done, the only other thing I did was use the piston shaft from my old single pot MC on the new one...No cutting needed.
