Re: door coolers

I think LMC, Dennis Carpenter and Drake, only sell the complete pocket and trim.. I don't think you can buy just the trim by itself. I need the trim pieces as well. The aluminum ones are gorgeous but way to expensive for me.

Re: '64 292 3 speed to FE C6 swap

If it was me, I would just use a cable operated floor shift from Lokar or some other company. If you absolutely need a column shift and pedal assemblies. Flashback F100s could help you I think. I believe his name is Tom and he is a member here. His website is http://www.flashbackf100s.com/

The front suspension is something I have kicked around in my head but never saw done.. I don't have the expertise to experiment. How is the ride? Is it a fairly straight forward swap?

Re: 8' bed weight?

I look forward to seeing your build. I for one don't care what you put in your truck. Im having a 4.6 litter Mustang GT motor put in mine. I do like ford motors personally, but if I had a ford truck and a Chevy motor laying around and the knowledge to marry the two together, then why the hell not? I...

That frame was exactly what I was looking for as a reference. I think I will keep what I have. I can always build another. Thanks guys.

converting to a 4x4...

K I have this thought that I am wondering if its just a pipe dream. I would love to make my slick into a 4 wheel drive. My thought is this. I have a 65 and can I use the front axle out of a 70s half ton with the coil spring and radius arms. If I use say 3 inch lift springs, will the pumpkin hit the ...

Here is a cool site to calculate ring gear vs tire size vs desired RPM and all that jazz. Like everyone said already, on Dana 60 and Dana 44, the carrier must be changed if you move to a higer (numerically lower) ratio than 4:10:1

The 4.0 is going to have a little bit of rocker tap. Its normal with every 4.0 I have ever owned. I have a 95 grand cherokee with 235k miles on the 4.0. Just rebuilt it at 220k Will run forever if you take care of them. They are simple to work on. They like to eat motor mounts and the oil filter ada...

If you have a dana 44 rear and 520 hp, then you will have issues. Id put the Dana 60 back in there with 35 spline axles. Larger tires + driving it like you stole it + dana 44= KABOOOOOMMMM

if you want to go larger try a 285 75 r 16. Its just about 33 inches tall and about 11 inches wide. Its a popular size in the jeep world since newer jeeps have a 16 inch or larger size. I have them on my Grand Cherokee. Most tire guys will mount them on a 15x7 rim. you will get some sidewall buldge ...

Correct me if I am wrong, the main reason a SBC was used in 32 fords back in the day it shared more or less the same external dimensions of the Flat Head that it replaced. Sure it made more power, lots of things made more power than a flat head but the SBC was the only thing that fit with in the fra...

If I were you, get rid of the bottom block. Stacking blocks is DANGEROUS. In many states its illegal. Go to an offroad shop and get a set of blocks that are the right length.
