i scored a 1967 ford pickup shortbed trailer with an original california tag on it. also had a folding cover for it. unbelievable quality sheet metal with original paint pulled it back home 200 miles. i am happy happy happy. too cool.

Re: 1966 f100 custom cab short bed 428 c6 automatic empty we
how many lbs do you think you removed from front end modifications over factory? aluminum heads probably make 50 lb difference over cast iron. i have a spare probably 30 lbs or so. maybe a few more brackets than yours and a power steering pump etc. but i can't see that big of difference. i have lon...

Re: 1966 f100 custom cab short bed 428 c6 automatic empty we
3950 lbs i was surprised. that is with a PI aluminum intake the rest is factory FE. Iron CJ heads. "A" scratch block. i did not think they weighed that much. i hauled 20 clean radiators to the local scrapyard.and the empty truck with me in it weighed 4140. and i weigh 190. so the empty we...

Re: Elec.brake switch installed
Will a pedal from a 68 with switch bracket swap in place of a 65 brake pedal? ? dont know. i know the whole pedal assembly is different. trace out a carpenter's square. 2 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches wide. leave the arms 6 inches long and cut to suit for a bracket and fold it to the instructions on ...

Re: Elec.brake switch installed
rockauto has those switches for $2 and change. i bought 5 delivered for the same money as 1 from oreillys and i didn't have tp drive to olathe to get it. the self-tapping screws work great for attaching that brake lite bracket to the pedal assembly. then you can remove your vice grips or c-clamp. yo...

Re: neutral safety switch
after inspecting 2 dash harnesses that i have in a box i have concluded that only the 65-66 automatics had the provision for the neutral safety switch. the 4 speed truck has no thumb push connectors for the neutral safety switch. the red/blue wire has those connectors for the NSS on the dash harness...

Re: neutral safety switch
i have identified the 2 wires that only close when in park. red/blue. another 2 pair of wires only close when shifter is in reverse. for the back-up lights. i think i have been fooling with the wrong side of the starter solenoid. i'm dizzy from looking at wiring diagrams. i'll give it another look t...

neutral safety switch
how do i wire in a neutral safety switch. my original column is a 4 speed column. truck now has a C6 transmission with a mustang floor shifter from 1969. i have identified which 2 wires from the shifter are used to insure ignition is only energized when shifter is in park. i think only trucks equipp...

Re: WTB 65 or 66
I am looking for a 65 or 66 F 100 with a junk cab. it can be pretty well toast as long as it has the vin plate on the door and title. i have a few titles. mostly kansas. maybe missouri. no iowa. i think you can get a vin plate made to match the title. I have a few cabs, lots of doors, a few long be...

Re: Leveling the Ride After CV Front End Conversion 4/2019
Still collecting parts for the truck. The CV conversion keeping it stock should drop the front end around 6 " with a 351/C6 . I am sticking with leaf springs for now and will notch the frame . Thinking a axle flip and and a 2" drop on the leaf perches will get me right for the ride, but a...

Re: Crown Vic steel wheel center help
i ran some Pi wheels on a CV conversion for a while they fit fine. for mustang wheels sometimes you might need to buy some quarter inch or bigger spacers. back to your original question though you made to buy some adaptors 5 1/2 inch to 4 1/2 inch. the rear end is ok. don;t know about the front. nev...

I hit 2 home runs in 1 day
i found a set of late model bullet style 18 inch mustang rims with 1 inch spacer and lug nuts with better than decent tires for $100. 9:30 am. another hour to a flying j station and had a tbone steak for breakfast and met the 2nd guy of the morning at 11:00. I bought a 1988 f250 7.3 diesel with c6 a...
