Never did get a clear answer on why that con rod was that color. Others said they had seen them in that color.F100forever wrote:If a rod was underweight, they could add material to make it balance.

Re: What exhaust exit style to go with??
I like exit 2 and in front of the wheels. I tow a trailer and these 2 options keep the exhaust out of my face when Im hooking up by myself. The exit 2 is the one I run on my 98 F150.

If it has 2 piece driveshaft it may be the center carrier bearing.

Steve it looks better with the steps in place. It looked like something was missing without them. Man I love looking at your 65. I can hardly wait till I can restore mine to the point of having a complete paintjob.

Its fun watching you do this immaculate restore. I wont be going that deep into my 2 4wd trucks as I enjoy driving them around too much. Its just great seeing someone go this deep into the detail as I am learning a lot just watching.

Re: Paint for white wheels and bumpers
Corinthian white is an off white. Google up paint color chips for your year. I don't believe that the wheels and bumpers were a Corinthian more of a straight white color.

Re: Is there a trick to removing FORD lettering emblems?
On a 66 upper grille the letters are held on with barrel clips. Either wait till you have removed that part or find a thin strong flat blade to slide under them and lightly pry upward. There are strong plastic tools made for that on the market. You might try eastwood or a strong thin putty knife. I ...

Im with Skip great time saver. No fuss no muss just tear off the used sheet throw away and ready for the next mix and spread. I hadn't worked with body filler in a number of years. They seem to be much more user friendly and easier to use.

Do they overrun the blue dots. Do the lights still have that purple blue hue to them?

Re: The 1964 F100 4x4
Chris is there any chance you could post up some pics of how the former owner was able to make the 64 cab work on the 74 frame. What Im wondering is did the PO use a 2wd 64 cab or a 4wd cab and how did he get the bed to mount on a wider frame and how did he deal with the front cab mounts. Im wonderi...

Re: The 1964 F100 4x4
The 64 F100 4wd and the f250 4wd trucks both would have had a wrong bed as the proper stock bed. 64 2wd would have the newer styleside bed. Your tailgate is correct for the wrong bed styleside.

Re: 63 wrong bed Southern Utah area
I agree with what Mike said and if you do happen to get a wide gap a piece of flatten copper line behind your weld will help as the rod or wire will not stick to it. It can also be helpful behind holes when you are trying to fill them. Check eastwood as they make some tools for this process. I have ...

Nice work on the radio hole repair. I had to do the same thing on my 63 cab. I call it fixing the KRACO mod.

Re: mirrors and exhaust on...
Looking good Anthony. When I got my 4wd rolling again most if not all of my output seals and pinion seals were leaking on the front and rearend and the TC. So yes there will be a few bugs to get worked out on trucks that have sat for a while.
