I have a 302 in my 61 and it runs great. Good mileage and performance. I have had 360s and 390s and although they are great engines, the mileage is not so hot. Unless you are towing heavy loads the small blocks are great.

I used the same wiring kit on my 61& it is great. Go to my profile page and scroll down to "Show Personal Album" in the profile box. Open that up and the 3rd picture down on the right shows the solution to your question. I filled the excess holes with metal plugs. Hope this helps.

I used spray undercoating on my old 69 4X4 back in 1984, used the truck in mud, snow,sandy beaches, hunting and fishing & it is still tougher than "wang leather" and rust free. Highly recommended.
