Re: 65 f100 + 1995 mark viii
Nice looking truck. Alot of quality workmanship! I like the paint booth you built. Did you have any filters in the fans? How did you keep the bugs and other flying debris out of the paint? I put filters on the intake side of the four intake fans and about eight filters on the exhaust openings(no fa...

I sectioned it into the frame. Don't remember exactly how much off hand, 1.5 or 2 inches seems to come to mind. Just kept going till I liked the ride height.Ratrod_Rhysie wrote:this effy is effin bangin. did you notch the chassis to accept the jag ifs or is it sitting on top of the set up?

Re: Identifying a CV Front End
I think the only difference between civilian and cop cv suspension was the rate on the coil springs. Don't take this as bible verse, it just what I remember from somewhere. You might see if you can get a part number off them and run it. I think fords had paper tags on there springs, you might be SOL...

Re: 65 f100 + 1995 mark viii
I finished my headliner, what a pain in the butt all alone. It came out pretty good. I cut it outta frp from lowes, covered it with foam headliner material and then wrapped it in some stuff called trexx, all from Joanns. Price: 33 frp, 15 foam, 20 trexx, 30 spray adhesive. 95 is a lot better than 28...

Re: Another Headliner How-To
So I went and got a sheet of the frp, cut out the patterns, and spent the rest of the day getting my butt kicked by this thing. The b pillar pieces where easy, little heat gun action and they laid in nicely. The main roof piece was total pain in the butt. My advice: 1. Get you headliner trimmed and ...

Re: Ebay chrome tilt columns... warning
That's weird, when I needed my column i had no problem contacting them. They are in Michigan so maybe this big storm has closed them up. You could try flaming river too, they are also made here in the US.

Re: Jaguar xj research questions
That is just a chrome straight 28" column from Ididit, universal i guess. I never used the tilt option on the pos tilt I had so I just thought I would save a couple hundred buck and put in a straight. They actually didn't have any in stock so they built it completely to my specs. I put in a wir...

Ebay chrome tilt columns... warning
I purchased a chrome tilt column off eBay when I was building my truck. I think I paid 200 for it. Simple, cheap solution for a new column right? Wrong these things are giant pieces of s%$t. There was some play at the bottom bearing right out of the box. I should have sent it back right there but i ...

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c261/65styleside/IMG_20140317_173011530_zpsyguqbj8w.jpg I passed the filler neck through the frame, the filler itself is on the back of the passenger wheel well inside the bed. That's a piece or 4" x6" x 5/16" angle iron I used on the rear of the fra...

I don't remember an exact degree, I will be under it next week, I'll check it for you. I got some adapters off ebay for the rear too. I intend to have them re drilled when I take the bed back off to box the rear frame. I got here is a link for the tank I used. I have some pics of it somewhere. They ...

Re: Another Headliner How-To
Nice man, I've been thinking about using wood instead or frp or abs, I thought it would hold its shape better in the heat of the summer. Did the stuff you used bend easily in the vertical section of the b-pillar area?

Re: Jaguar xj research questions
Also I replaced the column with a chrome 28" one from ididit. Originally I got a chrome tilt from eBay. It was a piece of s#@t. There are articles out there about how these cheap chrome tilts are breaking at the tilt joint. They do not have a redundant system built in like factory tilts. When t...

Thanks for the positive feedback, I really love it. Blast to drive. Can't park anywhere without somebody wanting to talk about it or take pics. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c261/65styleside/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150216_093225179_zpsnxwalvue.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c261/65stylesid...

Re: Jaguar xj research questions
I put one in my 65. It wasn't too bad, but it did take some problem solving. 1. Your column is up high the rack is low, you will need a double u joint at the column, a single u joint at the rack and a support bearing. 2.ps- depending on you pulley set up you may be able to build a mount for the jag ...

Been awhile on the updates but I'm still plugging away. Vintage air unit hooked up(heat side anyway), easy system to install, very straight forward. 2 speed wiper motor with delay, in and working. Waiting on some new linkage though, my bushings ate pretty shot. Put on rear air shocks, the ones team3...
