Re: Who has limited slip?

I had a trac-lock in mine but it made too much noise when turning . So I removed it and put in a detroit limited slip no noise from rear. But let me tell you I have had it sideways after making a turn and shifting to third. And in the snow its fine just don't goose it or it will get loose.

Re: Dana 60 gearing question

I will say this I have the 3.73 gears and running 33 inch tall tires. Its great on the highway and keeping up from stop light to stop light with traffic. But when at post speed of 55 mph and pulling a load 3000 lbs the engine seems to be lugging. I will be changing mine back to 4.11.

I have seen the pivot piece go bad. The little arm on the inside under dash comes loose on the pivot shaft.

Re: Anybody with a stakebed slick?

When I worked at the Kenworth dealer in Durham I had to put a stake bed on an Isuzu truck. On the rear of the bed in the center of the oval is was Ford in cursive. I had never seen that before or since.

Re: Sugar,Sugar

My brother had someone put sugar in the tank and he drove his truck home 50 miles. The next day he tried to start the truck did not won't to start . When we did get it to start it had jacked the rocker arm studs out. We ended up pulling the engine and had to clean all the pistons and rings. Put it b...

Re: Cutting long bed down to short bed

I cut the front out of a long bed and it was not the easiest thing to too but it can be done. Working on the rear would be tough. If I had to go thru all that trouble I would look for a short bed.

Re: 1966 4WD Front Disc Conversion

Your truck looks stock . 66 Was the first year that the cab and bed matched and it was F100 . Did you check the vin on the passenger frame rail . Your truck could have a checkered past like mine.

Re: 1966 brake issues

It sounds like the brake rod needs to be adjusted. On the brake pedal the bolt that goes thru the rod has a cam and it can be adjusted. I would check that first before returning the master cylinder

The Vin is own the passenger side on top of frame rail. My truck was titled as a F100 but frame vin was F26. Your front axle looks orginial to me.

You have a open knuckle. You maybe able to get a disc brake kit from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard but its expensive.

Re: Need some help from you pros. :)

Does the truck have the original front axle with the drum brakes and the solid ball nuckle at the king pin. If that is the case I would just buy a new front axle from a 77 up with disc barkes. I pick-up one from Flashback Ford's for $350 8 years ago. And used the portional valve from that. The front...
