Truck looks great man. I'm right in the middle of a 4.6 swap so your build gives me hope. Very nice work man.

Re: bcook07's Unibody Build
Oh gotcha. That's cool I didn't catch that you used that. Did you use all the emissions and the pats system?

Re: bcook07's Unibody Build
Hey man truck looks great. Was wondering what you did with the motor mounts. I'm not sure how I'm going to mount mine yet. Any pictures?

Re: 65 Step Side Bed Help
The bottom corners of the fenders tend to collect water and rust. You'll notice it right where the mounts lot up. Only other thing that sucks is if the top rails are bent or tweaked its nearly impossible to get them straight again. Good luck

Re: Torque converter question
I did put a new carb, it's a carb exchange holley 1904. Things cherry, mine was leaking all Over even after rebuild. Worked ok just leaked too much. I have been adjusting and adjusting and it is a possibility that I'm a retard and just can't get it right, but I'm feeling like I'm chasing the wrong p...

Re: Torque converter question
I replaced carb, got new wires, plugs, cap, rotor, points, condenser, and fuel filter. From what I've read if it jumps into gear and it bogs the motor way down when in drive or reverse and stalls the truck most the time then the converters locked up and not allowing the motor to build Rpms and keep ...

Torque converter question
So I think I've figured out that the torque converter on my truck (61, 223, auto) is locked up all the time. Wants to stall in drive and reverse and seems to be pulling pretty hard when put into gear with no throttle. So my question is, is their a way to free it up, or is their some kind of relay li...

Re: Need some help...
So I got the bowl off again, checked float and its good, level is good according to the rebuild kit and the Internet. It has a 99 jet in it right now, seems alittle big to me but I dont know. Anyone have an idea what jet size should be in here. I live pretty much at sea level. Also I did check the c...

Re: Need some help...
I guess I'll pull the bowl back off and see if I can do anything to adjust it or fix it. I'm about 5 minutes away from swapping in a 4.6 with a t5 I have out of a mustang. Getting so tired of this old motor...

Re: Need some help...
It's a holley 1904, had a thread about getting a replacement because the bowl is bent on this one from a previous owner beating on it to try and free up some junk in it. I rebuilt it a few weeks ago in hopes to salvage it but It leaks a little too much for me to feel like its safe to run a lot. I ju...

Re: paint question
Single stage can be awesome, depending on where you live you can get higher voc rated paints and the stuffs awesome. Here in Cali we are choked way down on paint voc's so our "legal" single stage is not good, doesn't shine or have depth that base clear does. If your going single and have t...

Re: Need some help...
Hmm I thought the points gap was supposed to be 18-19. Maybe that's it. Also after trying to tune the carb a bit I found its flooding out. Had to back air screw way off and still not great. Only runs ok when I choke it out limiting the air. You think if the float level is alittle off it would run re...

Re: Need some help...
I gapped the points. Been tinkering with the carb a little and seems to stop the backfire. I haven't done the valve adjustment, haven't done that on this truck before. Image it's pretty easy, anyone have the specs for the valves. And what kind of timing are you guys running on your slicks. Thanks

Need some help...
Ok 61, 223, just did tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, condenser, and points) and now truck starts but when it's a little warmed up it backfires every now and then after you rev it up. I didn't adjust the timing on the dizzy but I'm wondering if I need to. Not sure where it should be on this old tr...

Re: Carb options for 223
I think that autolite maybe the ticket. The carb I have it bend at the bowl and won't seal anymore.

Carb options for 223
My holley 1904 is pretty much toast. So I was wondering what other carbs will work with the stock 223 install manifold. Thanks for the help
