I have been pondering a way to make it safer. It was really my fault. Like a big dumby and in a hurry, I rolled the motor not thinking about it being top heavy with heads and intake still on it. Before I could get the H in OH S&*t out of my mouth, it was on the ground. Despite the fact I had jus...

352 Rocker shaft

I pulled the 352 with 4spd this weekend out of the 65. Put it on the stand and commenced to dis-assemble. I turned the motor a little too much when it flipped the stand over and landed on the head, bending the rocker shaft and breaking a couple of shaft stands. Now I am in search of a replacement sh...

Man, I should have known better than to even say there was a Chevy in my back 40 on this sight. Just thought maybe someone would know how to help get my Granny's car running again. Damn, I shoulda voted for Pedro. Don't forget the Slick is in the garage. I just read the cat turd, that was good.

'91 Caprice 5.7 Fuel cutoff

Happy 4th and stuff. Ok, I have a 91 Caprice that my brother had a little front end dissagreement with something solid. It pushed the grill, radiator core support, hood and driver fender back . Not too bad, it's fixable with some replacement cosmetics. The fan shattered the shroud but clear from tou...

Not to brag, but my dash is the shinyest part of the whole truck. It looks like brand new paint after I wiped the dust off of it. It came stock with a bare dash and is sweet. 8)

Oh yeah, a couple of other variables to consider are, 8. Bad lifter 9. Bent push rod and Number 10. 10. Rocker arm bent. If it were mine, and it's always easier to armchair quarterback the game, I would start with verifying the Tchain slack. (moving the crank back and forth while looking at the roto...

I concur Scotty. That popping noise is normally associated with a stuck valve, some refer to it as a floating valve. This is caused by a couple of things. 1. Bent valve 2. Weak valve spring, causing slow to close. If bent and stuck, would pop all the time. 3. Pre ignition, where the plug is firing t...

I have seen it poured straight down the throat too. A little at a time to keep from killing the motor. Will smoke, but cleans as well. That is also an old Overheating treatment preventing warped heads.

I'm not sure who to ask, but I would like to use one of my pictures as an Avatar. I tried uploading and will not work. I would like to use DSC00432.jpg in my pics if a moderator can help me. Thanks.

I have also inquired about my low oil pressure. I have no gauge, but running without V-covers, the oil only trickles down the drains on the top end. It does not squirt everywhere. I too have one bent rod. A flattened lobe can be the result of this. Also I'm not sure if you have hydraulic lifters or ...

If no bent Prod, could be an unfortunate flattened lobe on the cam.
This is sounding like one of those snowballs. I know the feeling.

 Yes, I too have had the experience of the majority if not all of those. That was good. [qu19. Maybe a little age if you remember those old quart cans....

The front guard is a "Cattle/brush guard". He used the truck to haul cattle and also to drpp hay squares. It spent alot of time in the pastures. The cows would swarm the truck, and very hard headed at times. So rather than bump the cows with the grill, he bumped with the guard. It is Solid...

that's a beautiful beater, my friend... I like it. Don't exactly understand the plates sticking out with the tail lights... but nice. Original paint... wow. I'm not sure myself. It's not real heavy gauge, but it might look good chromed? On the original sale's sheet, it shows the "plated step b...

Check out the pics of the 65 Heirloom all original stepside. I think I might leave the original paint on it. I washed it and its in really GREAT shape. Needs a lil wood in the bed, and a little wet sandin or just a good green scrubby. Enjoy :D Give me some feed back. Make sure you open my all pics a...

Sounds "Harmonic". Like a balancing issue. My other thoughts are a plug wire going bad and arching off to the nearest metal source like exhaust manifold. I have had that happen even with the 8mm lifetime wires.
