A good weld shop Can weld the crack. with a die grinder & some buffing it can be as good as new. I did this to a wheel on my 67 mustang. I couldn't one to match. $25 to weld & about 2 hours grinding & buffing.

No, weather is weather. I have been there any where from shorts & sun screen to standing in 6 inches of water with tornado warnings.
