Armbruster was another one. Had a 1960 Chevy 3/4 ton. Frame stretched about 30 inches and body made into a 4 door crew cab.

Just make sure to reinstallthe metal spacers. PO on mine left out/threw away the spacers and the enginr flopped all around and made terrible shuddering on clutch engagement.

1962 F100 unibody 223. I used John Mummert's adapter plate with a 1995 Mustang T5. The shift lever comes up about 1 inch in front of the seat bottom so will not go into 2-4-R. Made 1/4 plate about 3 in long to mount the upper shift lever to. This allows a nice placement of the shift knob and allows ...

When I put a t5 in my pickup, I just made a offset to bolt in place of the shift lever to move the upper part forward. KISS.

Jeff,
Most of us just use the chevy alt. I used one out of a 78 camero. Fab up a lower mount bracket and use the stock adjusting bracket and belt. Wiring is very simple.

Don,
The 223 bell is the same as the yblock on the end the tranny bolts to but on the engine end the two top holes are closer together for the 223. John Mummert makes and sells an adapter setup to put a T5 behind the 223. That is how I did mine a few years ago. I am very satisfied with my setup.

When I put a T5 in mine, I just made a piece to locate the lever about 4 inches forward of the stock position. This way I kept the tranny all stock except for cutting 3/8 in of the input shaft nose.

I also have done the GM Alt Conversion on my 62/223. I made my mounting bracket & used the orig adjusting bracket. From a 78 Camaro, if I remember right. Good outcome.
Incidently, I was born in Yates, Grew up in Lemmon.

Tranny Info

I run a T5 in my 62. John Mummert at the y block website in the earlier post can set you up with what you need (PP,Disk,TO,Pilot & adapter), you still would need a tranny from a 94-95 Mustang to do this. Cost was 425 a few years ago when I did mine. You will also need a shorter driveshaft. Let m...
