Re: Did '62 Uni come with hazard flashers?
Thanks for the clarification! That's kind of what we thought. I think we are leaning toward a hidden switch or maybe the add on setup with the indicator light in the dash.

Did '62 Uni come with hazard flashers?
I think they were an option, not sure. If they were, what switch / indicator would it come with? In dash or on a separate panel? Thanks

Re: Project UNILOW.
I actually tracked him down at one point. I believe he abandoned the tube frame at some point in favor of a conventional frame. He ended up selling the project. Lost track of it after that.

Re: body filler
From SPI's epoxy tech sheet: Body Fillers: On any restoration it’s always best to apply the body filler over the epoxy rather than applying filler over bare metal for best adhesion and corrosion protection. After applying two coats of epoxy, wait overnight before applying the body filler. The epoxy ...

Re: Trash or Treasure? Two rough Uni's
Well I decided to get them and they are home now. Was quite an ordeal getting them but it was worth it I think. Snow didn't help. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-k1zYjGhz6es/VHoAx-4FoFI/AAAAAAAAPO4/mMn-mqfTKS8/w955-h537-no/20141128_105637.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Gv9phMda1Yk/VHoAxpk...

Re: Trash or Treasure? Two rough Uni's
Thanks for the input. I would be planning on an all custom build including a new frame so the only thing I would really need is the body. I could see even building an all custom radiator support and inner fenders. So basically I could part out most of both trucks and I guess what I'm trying to figur...

Trash or Treasure? Two rough Uni's
I've been looking for a shortbed big back window Uni for over a year. I'm planning on a custom one off so the chassis, drive train, interior etc. are not important. But solid bed sides and cab are (floors and steps can be fixed obviously). I can find solid ones from time to time but they are always ...

Re: Overal truck dimensions
Found a diagram for a '66. Not exactly what I was looking for but close enough for what I need it for. I'm looking to build a storage shed but need to keep the square foot within a certain size.

Re: Project bagged shop truck uni
I will try to get more pics of the a up tonight. Might be able to get someone of the truck as well. As for the brakes I plan on running discs on all 4 corners This is why i haven't drug one home yet. I keep telling myself I just want a "cool truck to cruise". And then I start day dreaming...

Re: 4R70W trans ?????
Well I notice this on newer vehicles all the time, but I think it's a fuel saving strategy. By unlocking the converter on "coast" it doesn't slow the vehicle down when you let off the gas and the result is better fuel economy at the expense of constantly dropping the the converter lockup c...

:welcome: from cobleskill NY :steering: Thanks! My sister lives in Central Bridge and my wife is from Duanesburg. Appreciate all the responses, lots to take in. Not sure what direction I will take. I have a hot rod that I will be most likely selling next year so I wanted to get back into a pickup. ...

Re: Some newbie Slick questions
Sorry for the X brand reference, just trying to get a feel for the market and what I look for / how much I can expect to pay. For example, I found this one and they wanted $1,800 with no engine or trans. I'm thinking $800 would be a stretch, but maybe not do to how hard parts might be to come by. ht...

Re: Some newbie Slick questions
Thanks! Lots of great information. Should I be prepared to pay a premium for a unibody considering the limited availability? Say compared to a similar condition and year C10?

Re: Nicks 63 Uni
We are looking in to this plate where we can mount on the motor where i can put a top mount supercharger on it :D Really cool build. I know I'm new here but am curious what supercharger your thinking of using. I built a 4.6 with a 6-71 GMC blower and EFI and had to build my own intake adapter setup...

Some newbie Slick questions
Hello, I just found this site and joined recently. I only "discovered" the slicks in the last year or two. I knew of the body style, but have grown to like the unibody design. So, if I was looking for a short bed unibody, it looks like '61-'63 are the only years it was made, correct? How a...
