That is a nice truck. It would be pretty cool to go see the land speed races down there. Has anyone here been?

Re: When Will We Be Able To Post Photos To This Site???
I've asked the moderators this question off and on over the past few years. The last I heard was in 2017 or so "we are working on it". Anything we the members can do to help? The technical help is out of my skill set but I can donate funds to support it. What do you say? This question is ...

Re: Electric crate motor swap into a skick.
My data is terribly out of date but might be of some use. In 2013 I contacted "Canadian Electric Vehicles ltd" They offer conversion kits for a few vehicles. I asked them what it would take to get my 2500# slick into the 13 - 14 second quarter mile. It wasn't that I planned on racing it th...

Re: Ford 223 PCV Conversion
What is the best way to convert a 223 from road draft tube to PCV setup? Install a PCV valve into the rear of the valve cover to intake vacuum? Or rig something up from where the road draft tube is with a PCV valve to intake vacuum? Since there hasn't been a reply I will through my limited experien...

Re: Elec.brake switch installed
I recently did this too my truck as well. I didn't take any pictures. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the pedal assembly right where that rubber bumper hits. There was enough room above that (Behind the instrument cluster) to mount a switch. I could only find a normally open switch but I took it a...

Re: rust: driving vs. sitting
I would vote for sitting being the worst. My first thought being grass. I think tall vegetation right next to truck holds moisture there. I also think your argument about standing water is valid. When driving I never leave standing water in the truck box... but when it sits I know it's there for qui...

Re: I hate this stuff ... and it shows
I've done a fair amount of bodywork. Mostly the metal part as the journeyman did most of the filler work. I think some of the frustration comes from the fact that it can never be perfect. You could put a 5000 dollar job or a 50 000 dollar job on the same car. That means especially for the guy at hom...

Re: External wood heat for the garage.
From what I can see from your pictures, you have built two or three times the quality of stove that my employer had. That was a huge amount of welding. And lot of quality cutting and fitting. I'm impressed with you work. Hope you get plenty of use from it. Check with local tree cutting services. My...

Re: External wood heat for the garage.
I'm a big fan of wood fired boilers. RV antifreeze not water, so if you don't fire it during bad weather it doesn't freeze. Copper leader pipe to pex supply, for coils or radiators anywhere where you want heat. The pex takes up less room than Warm air pipe. I stoked and maintained one for over five...

Re: External wood heat for the garage.
Nice work ! Buy yourself a "fan limit switch" (they use them on furnaces) They kick on when warm , off when cool I had a very similar wood furnace I built for my house Just start a fire & the fan switch will cycle off & on Until it gets hot enough to stay on the whole time Saves e...

Re: External wood heat for the garage.
Nice fab work! Recirculation through a concentric tube would definitely up the efficiency, but I'd think you'd need to have the hot air outlet separated from the cold air return by a fair distance so the hot air actually disperses in the garage before being drawn back in. What you have looks nice a...

Look what I made. https://photos.app.goo.gl/9iSV7q7w7jLanVu4A https://photos.app.goo.gl/9iSV7q7w7jLanVu4A Since it dropped down to -37 here night before last it's a good time to stay inside and read all the slick 60's updates. I figured someone maybe interested in how I'm setting up to heat the gara...

Re: Wood fired garage heat
Now that I'm coming up the top with the chiminny I'm going to have a tough time getting fins in there. because to get the chiminny through the outside pipe I will have to slide the inner inside then raise it up. I guess welding long fins across will have to be good enough. I will try to stagger them...

Re: Wood fired garage heat
If your planing on supplying the garage with a 4" pipe connected to the 20" you will have to also have a 4" return as you won't want to heat ice cold air from outside and you won't get a strong supply of hot air without a return line. I'm assuming you will use a small fan to supply t...
