COM to C6
I have a 65 F100 2x4 with a 390 and COM. Sitting in my garage is a C6 from a 390. What will I have to change to switch transmissions? No real problems with the COM but looking at making the change ahead of problems or the need to rebuild. From those who "have gone before me" what am I in f...

Re: 66 custom cab chrome trim clips
I couldn't find any a year or so ago when I was looking. I got a response from here on a line for someone who had some extra. Might try that. Seems it was 5 bucks through the mail.

Re: How long do these I6's last
The 300 I6 in my 66 had over 649,000 when the truck rusted out. The motor was pulled and put into a van that goes up and down I-5 (Oregon) between Portland and Eugene. There was no major work done to it during the time I had it. Many times I wish I still had the motor.

Re: There's no such thing as a 200,000 mile car!
I totally agree that there is no 200,000 mile truck. When my 66 became a donor for my 65 it only had 639,000 miles with only one "surgery" to fix a broken piston skirt. The cam and crank looked great. Lat I knew the 300 6cyl was still running up and down the interstate. That was 6 years ag...

Re: Hood Hinge Question
Although I have a real good set of hinges I bit the bullet and bought a front tilt kit from Kevin and hope to have it on in a week or so when I get a break from work. NO more hinge problems.

Re: Pulling a trailer with 240 6.
I pulled a similar trailer with my 66 that had a 300 for 10+ years. Give your self extra breaking space, make sure the brakes are in good shape and take it easy. Takes longer to stop so be careful. That said have a lot of fun. these trucks are work horses.

Re: Need seat ukpholstry information .
SMS in Canby Oregon are good to work with. I got original color (they dyed it and it was a great match) and covered a set of 65 Bronco seats. They look almost the same as Mustang or the original Ranger buckets that came from the factory. I also used the fabric to cover the dash.

I am waiting for a "Christmas in August" package from Kevin Stone on Tuesday. It is a tilt hood kit. From the ones I have seen it is going to work out great and put together by one of our own Slick 60 addicts :D If you look at KSTONE under members his build thread is there with some pictur...

Re: I am in a bad spot.
Dave, Give pm me or give me a call. My buddy who had the bone yard may be able to come up with what you need. Very helpful and top shelf guy. WE could let him check around and see what he could come up with at his price. 300-I6 correct, or is it a 240. Either would work.

I had a bad lifter after rebuilding. Same symptoms as you describe. When cold no problem after warming up hear it. I stop the rig and let it sit for an hour or so and it was gone. Had to replace a lifter and no problem. Seems once it was pumped up it wouldn't stay.

Re: 65 4x4 with styleside bed
I have a 65 4x4 that I replaced the frig bed with a styleside. Relocated the rear axle and had a drive line "stretched" a bit. Not a difficult project just need to measure a bunch before re-welding shocks. Im going to sell it before I get it on the road so I cant comment on the ride quality.

Re: Excessive fuel pressure?
I got tired of messing with things and got an electric fuel pump. Kept the original one capped off just in case (it did come in handy once) and was happy. Got away from several problems including boiling over when really warm. When I turned off the motor there was no pressure to cause problems. I be...
