Re: 64 SWB 5.0 M5R2 swap begins
Hi Eric. Just found your thread on the m5r2 swap. Great job. I am putting a 85 300 6 with a 92 m5r2 in a 56 f100. I love the way you drilled out the tailshaft housing and modified the tailshaft. It was unfortunate your phone battery was dead when you modified the tail shaft. Did you order the gear ...

Re: Manual Transmission Upgrade -- Seeking Input
We put an 5 speed, MR52, in a few years back behind a healthy 5.0. Still going strong with no issues in my sons 64. Was originally 3 on tree but easy swap with hydraulic clutch. Did have drive shafts custom cut but was only about $140

Re: Drive train swap
The 302 is an easy motor to mod for good power and loves rpms which is great for low gears. My sons 64' with the 302/5-swap we did is a blast with 3.89 gears and eats up 6000 rpm without thinking about it. Any motor 86+ from mustangs and similar era for trucks are roller motors & a cheap score. ...

Re: engine swap from 352 to 300 straight 6
You might check out the 302 5speed mr52 swap we did in my sons 64'. Has been driving for 2 years & has been flawless. While not the exact same as a 300i or a 66 you should be able to adapt for those. The hydraulic clutch is a breeze and great for driving. If you get a 90-92 tranny you dont have ...

Re: Windsor vs. FE
We used a MR52 5-speed in my sons 64 behind a healthy 5.0. Install was a snap & the hydraulic cluthch and extra gear made it a totally different driver over the 3 on the tree. Driven daily for couple years now trouble free. If you get one out of a 92' or older you don't have to do the speedo dri...

Re: 64 slow redo
Impressive work guys. Especially the drip rail, I don't see a whole lot or warping either, which is impressive in and of itself. Thank that Squid of yours for his service, too. Thanks eminencefront! With the fall Indiana cool down we have moved from the speed of slow on the redo to roadkill crawl. ...

Re: 64 slow redo
Finally getting the rain gutter repairs finished. We got the gutter patch welds ground down, sprayed a coat of self etch and some filler before attempting to redue the gutter seam sealer. We used some SEM 2372 gray seam sealer in the gutter as well as the back of cab seam. While it turned out ok se...

Moving forward on roof patch panels.above the rain gutters. We made up patch panels for each side and cut out about & inch above the highest hole one both sides of the truck to make sure we got all the bad metal. http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/jj588/eric_allen6/20140829_123929_zpslk5ewrbf....

Re: 66 long bed project has begun
Yeah, my neighbor who is my "senior advisor" and beer fridge emptyer says they look like sh!t on a white dress. Are there any recomendations on a set of headers that wont break the bank? We picked up a set of OBX stainless long tube headers for my sons 5.0, 5 speed swap in the link in my ...

Re: 64 slow redo
We ran into an unexpected delay on the king pin change when the king pins would not come out with the 20 ton press at my mechanic friends shop. He and his employees are no stranger to king pins but hours of work only resultd in bending the press plates. We finally took the axel to an area semi sprin...

Re: 64 slow redo

Unfortunately my sons bank account seems to have an opposing idea. :) We were planning to do leaf spring bushings and have the drivers spring dearched to match the sa...
