carb rebuild kits
I have had several weeks of not being able to get a carb rebuilt kit for my 63 holly 1 barrel carb. Finally ordered from Ford parts obsolete in Ok Is there a better place to get carb kits? I tried several parts houses but not luck.

I just had my grill powdercoated gloss black and I ask the business and he said it will not hold up for very long at all. He said to NOT To DO it at all. HE said clear over it would help but not much.

I have a 61 -65 motor manuels but I could not fine anything about the cab mounts. If someone could tell me where to look I will look it up and post it for all to see. It was not even in the 17 unit about topic in the book. Sorry I tried

Thanks for the come backs. The reason I wanted to cc it was because the truck has clear coats on it over black and I thought it might look better with cc.

I had my 63 grill powder coated and was wondering if I sanded it with fine sandpaper could i clear coat over it. If yes what are the proper step and with what products? Thanks for all your help.

Im thinking about using original lacquer black. Do you know if it will paint over the primers at ACE hardware stores? Or should i buy the lacquer primer to be on the safe side. What about puting clear lacquer over the black. Thanks for any and all comebacks neg or pos.

It could be a vacuum leak from a gasket in the rebuild. Take a can of wd40 and spray the carb while it is running and see if it causes the engine to speed up which means that there is a leak at that point of the spray. There are people that rebuild the original. Check in Hemmings news magazine for people that do that. If yours are bent they may not be able to repair them. If my memory serves me correct there are some members on other ford sites that repair them with new pins etc

take a perminant marker and put a mark on the cap at something that you can remember. Dont twist the cap on all the way. Then if it not where you set it then someone is getting your fuel
