Re: 1964 Steering options
I just put a rebuilt redhead steering box in mine and couldn't be happier...not the cheapest but I think it's a better part.

Re: Has anybody used Rust Off and how were the results?
Rust mort is still made by SEM products...but it's a thinner liquid than what it used to be. It stil works well but doesn't cling to vertical surfaces as well as the thicker solution did.

Re: Lowered attitude with some new wheels
I'll get some more pics up soon when I'm done fixing that "straight" body...gray primer can sure hide a lot of half assed work that's been done in the last 51 years...but then I'm hypercritical from teaching collision repair for quite a few years...but overall it really is a nice truck.

Re: New project - 65 Mercury Gasser
It really has nothing to do with whether I like your truck or not...it's simply NOT a "period correct gasser"...what you did was open a catalog and order everything that YOU think NEEDS to be on a gasser. Then you took all of the things YOU liked from every "Boyd type street rod"...

http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t362/fastfrankie731955/WP_20150207_004_zpsab4526ad.jpg I just got my dropped axle from Sid, I will either remove a couple leaves or reverse the eyes to get the front where I want it. I will also need to pull the steering box out, there is a little too much play t...

Re: Another '64 SWB
So here we are with the plans for the next month or so. This being a southern truck, it has never really had a serious rust issues. There is a small amateur floor patch over the passenger side cab mount and the cab mount itself is going to need a little attention...the front of the bed floor and the...

Re: Another '64 SWB
Then I spent most of the summer playing with it until one late night in September after some spirited hooligan actions with a few of my hot rodder buddies, I over heated it pretty bad. I was really busy with work and building a bike so I just let her cool and replaced all the missing antifreeze and ...

http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t362/fastfrankie731955/WP_20140330_004_zps9a93425d.jpg The first thing I did was dump those God awful wheels (no offense to anyone that runs them, they just don't fit my style or vision) for some super cheap aluminum slots 15x7 and 15x8.5 respectively wrapped in ...

Another '64 SWB
Here is my 64 as I picked it up last year, it was brought up to Pennsylvania from North Carolina last year...Does anyone recognize it? It has a newer roller 302 with a C4 behind it. I just got done typing five paragraphs twice now before having my iPad lock up on me for some reason, so I guess I'll ...

What size wheel and tire combo are you running? That is really a gorgeous truck.
